Princess Eugenie went on to reveal the name was a touching tribute to Queen Victoria's Husband Prince Albert, whose birth name was Franz Albert August Karl Emanuel, and Prince Philip, who is currently in hospital, writing: "On his grandfather's birthday weekend, thinking of my grandfather, we are introducing our little boy. He is named after his great grandfather and both of his 5x great grandfathers."

  3. August Philip Hawke is adorable. Jack looks ecstatic and Princess Eugenie looks a bit overwhelmed. The fact that she is up and about so soon after a C-section is courageous. Congratulations to this sweet family.

    1. Completely agree, Debra. I also think Eugenie still looks tired and overwhelmed, which is completely understandable! If she would've waited a while longer for posing for pictures, I'd have understood as well. Kudos to her! Like the headband, it's nice on her.
      I think Jack's smile couldn't be any brighter and their firstborn is a ray of sunshine in these difficult times.
      Plus: I love that they named their son after prince Philip Philip too. Some extra recognition for a long, royal and dutiful life!

    He is a beautiful baby. I like that they presented August in blue. We have become accustomed to seeing the newborns presented to us in white. Wishing them all health and happiness. ~d

    @M Love the sarcasm!

    Beautiful baby and happy parents. Correct about Jack looking ecstatic and Eugenie looking a bit overwhelmed – she’s already aware it’s the mum that ultimately has to do the bulk of the heavy lifting.

    And as someone born in the month of February with the first name of another – in this case April - I’m sure this little guy (well known or not) will face many, many people asking, “Oh, were you born in August?” “No.” [Insert puzzled look.] LOL! If only I had a dime for every time ….

    Cute baby, cute dad. Eugenie could have made an effort about her hair. And yes I know that we are in a pandemic, I also know that one can color their own hair or put it up in a tidy bun or ponytail. This is a public semi-official picture from a member of the Royal family. People have fits about Maxima, and they are unforgiving to Meghan about their hair. I guess others get a pass.
    And yes, I know that she just had a baby, again, she is privileged unlike millions of women who manage to present themselves a little better.
    Nothing against this lovely woman, I am talking about grooming.

      She's post partum and dress and has hairdo that fits her and suits her. Why don't you lighten up a little. She looks fine. In fact I'm glad she's not too concern about it and looks on the messy side to keep it real. beth

    Anonymous @ 9:24 ( Beth) you opinion is as valid as mine, it has nothing to do with me lighting up or not, you can find her hair great and because of that I won't minimize your comment. I try to talk about fashion and style without delving on character or rumor or my "personal" feelings about these women, simply because I don't have them, so I hope that that is reflected on what I say. Please allow me to opine freely and respectfully without giving me advice as of how I should feel so you approve.
    Best Regards

      I agree with you Ms. Marple. If only good critiques are allowed (especially, when clearly something is not good) then it's not really an objective critique, is it?

      Nothing against Eugenie the person/personality, but her hair is a mess. *And* if one isn't quite up to a photo call then don't do it! I would think no one is holding a gun to her head (I really hope she wasn't pressured into this by the "grey men" or whatever), and we're in the middle of a pandemic. It would have been perfectly acceptable if they had decided to wait a while longer (weeks even) before trying to do photos. After she's had more of a rest.
