The Sainte Devote 2021 celebrations took place in the presence of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene
The traditional Sainte Devote Day is currently celebrated in the Principality of Monaco. On January 27, 2021, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the Pontifical Mass at Monaco Cathedral held on the occasion of the day. Saint Devota (French: Sainte Dévote) is the patron saint of the Grimaldi family which reigns in Monaco. The Sainte Devote Day is celebrated each year as a national holiday in Monaco.
Same outfit from last night. All she changed was the coat and beret.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why she dresses like a priest on these occasions!
W.
Savez vous si elle avait la même culotte, vous qui êtes experte en critiques ?
DeleteCharlène va à un enterrement !
ReplyDeleteC'est le protocole noir avec mantille, Charlène a abandonné la mantille depuis son mariage.
DeleteSo why get a hair that you are embarrassed to show off!
ReplyDeleteBe careful! Some photos ago i was attacked by Charlene fan because i mentioned that cut!! Lol
DeleteHow do you know she is embarrassed. It doesn't matter what hair style she has, she is is free to wear a hat if she likes. Do you know for a fact that she does not go without a hat too!
DeleteSorry, but If you think, it can't get worse, it does. Of course, the items have exquisite Fabric, but that is not the Point. You almost feel physically, that this Woman does not want to be there. She radiates whether warmth nor comfort. It IS a miracle to me, where it is one Major Task to an heir to find a Woman For His Side with Grace and dignity, why anybody can choose so totally wrong, a Person, WHO has not the competence to fullfill the Role.
ReplyDeleteWhat qualifies you to say that Princess Charlene is not worthy of being a Princess of Monaco. Prince Albert always speaks fondly of the mother of his children. He could of had many, many women to chose from to be his princess and he chose Charlene so get use to it. ...
DeleteNever read a comment that says so clearly this truth!
Delete@ precipite.... because your comments are always targeted to get attention and not the good kind, perhaps buy yourself a puppy?
ReplyDeleteMARIMAR
Oui
DeleteI don't know how you can tell that she is wearing her sweater next to her skin. Could you indicate which photo you see this?
DeleteYou see what you want to see.
DeleteWhat a beautiful, simple dress! It pairs perfectly with boots. I love the pop of color with the beret, and Albert's coordinating tie. Wearing black is not just for funerals. These type of comments always come up when the royal is someone the peanut gallery loves to hate. When it is someone that is generally well liked, such as Letizia, the same outfit would be chic, understated, "her color", etc.
ReplyDeleteAgree. I have no problem with Charlene wearing all black. I know that coat is oversized but I think she could have went with one size smaller.
DeleteE.B.B.
Thank you.....I totally agree with you, she has a heart just like everyone else!
DeleteGoing to church is not a fashion show. It is quite appropriate to wear dark colours or even black when attending a memorial service of a Christian martyr.
ReplyDeleteIn earlier centuries black was even THE colour of the obligatory court dress in several countries. But of course today's people only know fashion and latest trends and have forgotten traditions.
Margot
Exactly. For formal church services and remembrance days (Patron saints, war soldier remembrances, etc.) it is never wrong to wear black, and especially if it is pontifical in nature or by presence. I think she looks pretty smart and chic when you consider what other black clothing options she could have chosen.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Come on why keep on attacking her. What she does its her choice. Sheis free to choose what she wears, her hair style. Even her husband cnnot say anything.
ReplyDeleteSorry, just no! She looks like a bandit in an old style western movie. The mask is mandatory and the hat is necessary for the event but why add sunglasses to it. And, to Anon 10 36, I can't think of any royal who would look elegant or chic in this Do like the colour of beret though..
ReplyDeleteA bandit in a western? That is a very far-fetched comparison. You must not be very familiar with American Westerns or you would not have made that comment. The only important thing about the sunglasses is that they were not worn during mass, and they weren't.
DeleteDid you ever think that she is wearing sunglasses because the sun is bright and in her eyes. That is why they call them sunglasses!
Agree!
DeletePardon:
ReplyDeleteDu qu en dira t'on.
Weird and depressed.
ReplyDeleteMasha, that is my impression too!
DeleteBel ensemble monochrome ; cet élégant béret fuchsia convient bien à son petit port de tête !
ReplyDeleteWonder when and if this harassing Charlene can have an end, dear a thousand names/ languages ?
ReplyDeletePrincess Charlene has made some fashion choice that were quite lovely, some not so lovely but the obsession some of you have with her goes beyond fashion.....It seems to be more personal, I have never read anything that says she is a mean vindictive person, abused anyone, mistreated her children or husband, from the interviews I have seen her give she is quite lovely. Yes from the outside she appears shy and that may be why she is sometimes may not have this large society smile that many of you complain about, Queen Letizia rarely smiles yet I haven't heard one of you nay-sayers complain about that.....Some of you just plain and simple have it out for her. Your comments border on hatred.....In the US alone we have had over 25 million cases of the coronavirus so please show some compassion.....It is 2021!
ReplyDeleteVery well said.
DeleteEloquently said. It is difficult to see these cruel comments and not stand up for her.
Delete@ Anonymous 3:23 PM, unfortunately lots of blogs that initially were just pure entertainment, are now the place to go for individuals to vent and express their deep dislike for people that they only know by pictures, go figure....
ReplyDeleteI don’t always like Charlene’s fashion, but I don’t know her nor do I want to dissect her personality using a Google psychology 101 diploma . Some people are bitter and they only comment negatively. It’s not difficult to opine about fashion without getting into personal attacks.
CB.
Totally agree.
Delete@ Masha & Coralie, is that your professional impresión? Are you able to diagnose a person’s illness just by looking at some pictures.? You should be ashamed of yourselves not just for being flippant and mean, but because your comments seem a condemnation if she were to suffer from depression, which you absolutely don’t know.
ReplyDeleteCB
CB, are you an eleven-years-old girl in the schoolyard, defending her best friend?
DeleteI am neither mean nor do I condemn someone (and I think neither does Masha). We only describe an impression.
Out of curiosity, how can you tell she she is "weird and depressed"? As a Catholic, I can assure you mass is considered a dignified rite of the church. I am not sure how else she is supposed to "look". They all pretty much look the same to me. Maybe I am reading this incorrectly?
DeleteCoralie
DeleteJust a question: if any woman attending a Mass is not smiling all the way through is she depressed?
Well, that raspberry beret makes my heart skip a beat. It is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteChel
I do not feel voicing oppossing opinions is harrassing. The fabric of the coat is lovely, however it does look like something a priest might wear. The all black outfit is rather odd, but she has usually chosen outfits that stand out, perhaps so people see the outfit and not her personally. Its called wearing a suit of armour, or a way to stay hidden in plain sight. Looking at her choices for clothing before she was married, she never wore these style of 'look at me' clothes. Her choice, my opinion, not bitter, not angry, just a personal insight. :)
ReplyDeleteVoicing opinions, ( preferably about fashion) dissenting or not is the object of this blog, and one continually hopes that it would be in a civilized manner without getting down in the mud. . What is ridiculous is to equate her choice of clothing with her mental state, personality or character, and make uninformed, uneducated and judgmental diagnoses.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that she actually has a different taste that some of you? Could it be that you aren’t in possession of the Oracle of fashion? None of us know anything about her private life, so be kind and stop. Let’s just wish her well.
CB
@ CB
DeletePerfect!
And could it be that Charlene simply respects the protocol, which is part of her role as Princess and Albert's spouse?
Are we entitled to label as 'weird and depressed' any royal lady wearing black on an official engagement?
If so, we should look at other pics on other posts more carefully and we will surely find some other 'dark' lady.
As to Charlene's hair ,they will grow for sure and it is her choice how to style it.
Everybody is entitled to have their fashion views, but when talking about a lady means relentlessly demeaning her in any possible way and even questioning her role as a Princess and Albert' s wife, one can clearly see that these are much more than opinions.
ReplyDeleteThis is something which goes far beyond and changing identities and languages is useless.
This means harassing a woman one has never and will never met andwill never know personally.
One can clearly detect just one person behind this childish and unpleasant play.
Royals and generally speaking, public personalities, are subject to any kind of comment. If they cannot stand people judgement they can always give up their crowns and earn their bread like us. Anyway, I don't think they will ever read a line of this and other blogs. The real problem is the behavior of some readers when they answer to comments they don't like. Nobody should insult anyone or become agressive. But only the administator here can do something.
DeletePrecip...8:19PM
DeleteWe do not know if royals read this blog or others.
Before being public figures, they are human beings.
This means that no one is entitled to be offensive towards them and speculating about things they do not know anything of.
You are continually writing any kind of nasty remark about Charlene in any possibile language and changing names.
Do you expect to be allowed to be offensive towards public figures on a public site, but you feel offended by the consequential replies you are given by other contributors on this same site?
It is your choice to dislike Charlene, but you can do that with a bit of class.
Thank you.
A balayer et hop la Charlène
ReplyDelete@ Coralie , I am not 12 , but I hope to always speak up when I hear / read comments that are not only wrong but unkind. One can only hope that the you perhaps think about it and decide to be a better human. Nothing more, nothing less.
ReplyDeleteCB
Unfortunately it does matter what we say and how we say it whether the people in question read this blog or not.
ReplyDeletePeople make statements - she's depressed, someone else repeats and so on around the Internet until suddenly it's presented as the gospel truth. Other examples - Prince William had an affair, Chantal of Hanover was Caroline's best friend, Princess Diana behaved like a saint...
What's that quotation about lies or gossip travelling around the world while the truth is still putting its shoes on?
Anonymous 12.46: my comments on this site are very rare, since i have a busy life. The only thing i wrote about Charlene some days ago was that she was wearing a wig. If you, who don't even put a name on your interventions, think that i spend my life criticinzing this woman like a sort of maniac, under a thousand identities (and why you address to this one btw?), well... Then you have a big problem and its all yours. So please stop once for all these pathetic and ridiculous speculations and never dare to address them against me.
ReplyDeleteNo, you are wrong , I am not pathetic and everybody can read and recognize your same offensive tone in many comments including this one .
ReplyDeleteI think you do have big problems.
Busy? No,I am quite sure you are not.
I mentioned just one of your names, then what?
If you do not like royals or the contributors' right replies to your aggressive and judgemental comments, it is solely your problem.
Your are trying to put things upside down, but it useless.
Of course you can go on over and over and that is exactly want you want .
You re right. You are not pathetic.
DeleteYou are really out of head! Lol
I really do agree that most often Charlene does not look like she wants to be there. I hope she can get some help to resolve what she does want and has the courage to pursue it.
