  1. How cheering at the end of a dull January day. Graet that they could go ahead with this albeit socially distanced. Queen Letizia looks amazing in these pics. What a beautiful shade of blue (though it's possibly even more gorgeous in red!) Given the necessity of wearing a mask, her hair is perfect and love the earrings. The King also looks fantastic in formal dress

  2. Très beau couple royal ; beaucoup d'allure dans cette robe longue bleu-roi mais j'aurais aimé voir un peu de ses chaussures - Délicates ses boucles d'oreilles très fines avec diamants et perles ?!

Lovely. This gown is in keeping with the more simple, understated style of dress that Letizia has taken on during the pandemic. She mirrors this in her hair style as well. The only little luxury we see are her gorgeous earrings. Of all the monarchies, I think Spain is the best example of balancing duty with appropriate and consistent safety precautions. I have great admiration for them.

  4. Love the dresses of all the ladies, especially the one with the blue horizontal stripes. The red version of Queen Letizia's dress is ravishing, but I prefer the jeweled button on the Queen's dress. The men looked very nice too, especially King Felipe.

The dress is beautiful in its simplicity, the hairdo a bit too severe in combination with it.

  7. Beautiful outfits all around. Like Annie, I like to see something ceremonial like this reception being held according to tradition and not falling victim to pandemic restrictions. Some things can´t be done digitally.

  8. This is a beautiful gown, colour is exquisite. It fits perfectly, highlighting her perfect posture. The red version is magnificent, one of my favourite choice of gowns. The diamond earrings look superb.

Long formal dresses are difficult for day events, but she nailed it. Elegant and sober.
The earrings are to die for.

Letizia looks good. Earrings are gorgeous. The dress has beautiful lines. I like the blue but think I prefer it in red.

Letizia looks fantastic. What a beautiful shade of blue. And the fit is perfect.
King Felipe looks handsome. What a nice and united couple they make.
Its so refreshing to see an event that is not held digitally. Spanish royals show that with proper and consistent safety precautions life can go on and we won't be broken by covid-19. Other people also have to go to work. We wear masks. So why royals sit at home in front of the computer?

Well, in the UK we are in full lockdown. So as all of the events the Royal Family attend don't need them to be there in person it seems behind the computer is as good a solution as any.

You do not seem to be well informed about lockdown restrictions in some countries.
Royals are no exception, so they have to work behind a
      computer screen.

I'm just curious; do the King and Queen ever actually sit on the thrown chairs? Is there any ceremony or official portraits, etc., in which they actually sit in the chairs?

On the fashion; purple is my favorite color so to see Letizia wearing it in a long, lush fabric is wonderful!

It looks like blue Royal not purple on my screen.
