A New Year's banquet and a levee were planned to be held for the Prime Minister, the speaker of the Danish Parliament and a few other representatives of the government and courts of Denmark on January 4, 2021 at Christiansborg Palace. The plan was cancelled by the Queen before Christmas due to the continuing spread of COVID-19 in Denmark.
Instead, on January 4, Queen Margrethe received the Court Marshal and the Cabinet Secretary in the Knights' Hall in Christian IX's Palace at Amalienborg during a small levee. Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen sent his greetings to the Queen via the Cabinet Secretary at the socially distanced event.
The Queen looks good here. Usually the Danish New Year events are

Yes AnnieM. It is sad but we are being given a good lesson in the fact that public health comes first.
DeleteIn both photos the Queen is smiling.
It is people like her who help us to have faith in the light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you lots of joy for the New Year dear Annie M.
Thanks, Deadeggs. Happy New Year to you too.
DeleteLove her commitmand.
