Princess Margriet of the Netherlands celebrates her 78th birthday today. Margriet Francisca, Princess of the Netherlands, Princess of Orange-Nassau and Princess of Lippe-Biesterfeld, was born at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa, on 19 January 1943. The Princess has three sisters, Princess Beatrix, Princess Irene and Princess Christina. Margriet is married to Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven and they have four children. The couple also have eleven grandchildren.
