The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Batley Community Centre in West Yorkshire to meet with Royal Voluntary Service volunteers. At Batley Community Centre The Duke and Duchess met with volunteers who have supported elderly members of their community throughout the COVID-19 by sending cards, having regular phone calls and dropping off shopping, food bags and activity packs.
Yesterday evening The Duke and Duchess embarked on the three-day tour to thank those who have kept the country moving through the coronavirus crisis. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are travelling around the country on the Royal Train for the first time together.
During their visit, it was announced that the Duke and Duchess would become joint patrons of NHS Charities Together, the charity which has worked to provide hospitals and emergency workers with vital PPE equipment.
