The Duchess of Cornwall handed out the Outstanding Contribution Award to Chief Executive Dame Laura Lee for her work with Maggies Centres cancer charity, during a surprise presentation at Clarence House recorded earlier in the year. The Duchess has been President of Maggies Centres since 2008 and has visited centres all over the UK to see first-hand their important work helping those with cancer in a welcoming and thoughtful environment.
Dame Laura Lee was the founder and chief executive of Maggie’s Centres and became its first member of staff in 1995. She has devoted most of her adult life to bringing a unique kind of cancer support to people with all kinds of cancer, and their families and friends, across the UK and abroad.
The Pride of Scotland Awards, in partnership with TSB, honors Scots who are transforming the lives of the people around them. More than 50 famous faces took part in the awards show on Hogmanay, including Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and tennis star Sir Andy Murray.
I must say it's a bit of an odd way to present someone with a prestigious award...hiding it behind a cushion on a couch she was sitting on, lol..but more importantly it is a very deserved award and a lovely surprise mixed with a little fun. Made me smile :) Both ladies look nice. Congratulations!

I just love Camilla. She is the best thing that happened to Prince Charles and she is doing a wonderful job in spite of the fact that many people still find fault with her. She is great with children and seems to be very approachable. Her and the Prince seem very happy in each other’s company and very much a ease together.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
DeleteGreat video. Totally agree with CountessLin that Camilla has been a huge support to the Prince of Wales and to the royal family in general. Like her outfit as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice relaxed way of giving a reward!
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess looks very good here.
Camilla looks lovely. The deep green makes her blonde hair just shine.
