The Countess of Wessex visited Disability Initiative's Resource Centre
On December 3, 2020, The Countess of Wessex visited Disability Initiative's Resource Centre in Camberley to mark International Day of People with Disabilities. Disability Initiative (DI) is a charity for adults with disabilities that specialises in providing care and rehabilitation to help people reach their full potential and remain as independent as possible. This is accomplished through a variety of activities, educational courses and therapies.
Today’s visit coincides with International Day of Persons with Disabilities which promotes the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities across society. The Countess of Wessex has been the Patron of Disability Initiative since 2003. International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD) is a United Nations observed day celebrated internationally.
Like the sweater, skirt and high heeled boots---smart but not too dressy
ReplyDeleteYes, Annie M, I like Sophie's outfit very much, and it looks very comfortable - a good choice.
DeleteAnd these women are working with food, yet their hair is hanging all over the place.

appropriate, nice outfit, even had hair appropriate for cooking.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteAnother lovely unpretentious neat outfit from Sophie. Looking at her hair I was trying to imagine how much better Maxima would look with a style like this.... they seem to have similar hair type and texture, but the styling makes such a big difference.... if Sophie could only pass her hairdresser's card to Maxima!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but I thought just the opposite. While Maxima's clothes, her jewelry and her entire attitude reveal a spiritually very liberal modern woman of the world, Sophie always seems a bit old-fashioned to me - although of course very, very warm and committed.
DeleteHer hair is similar to mine: thick and dry. If Sophie would wear her hair down, then only with a lot of hair oil to dampen the woolen hat effect. Maxima's hair, on the other hand, is smoother and looks very cool when worn open and also somehow sexy.

@Katrin You are right. Sophie is not fashion-forward and I think it is ageing. She looks better here because the skirt is not a granny length and her boots are on point. Fussy little things like the sweater being a little long or the skirt looking a little full for the sweater are things I can ignore because it is better in so many other ways. I also agree about her hair. She could use some deep conditioning and a nice cut to shape it so she can wear it down. Her hair usually looks like an afterthought once she has dressed. It is very easy to pull it up with a clip, though not terribly attractive.
DeleteInternational Day of People with Disability is a day close to my heart and I love Sophie for being a patron of Disability Initiative. She is perfectly dressed here. Simple, warm and cozy. Her skirt is not too long, love her boots (really love her boots), and you will never go wrong with a classic black turtleneck.
ReplyDeleteGreat ensemble.
ReplyDeleteRich magenta paired with black is understated but lovely holiday style.
Fabulous Countess as always!
Вера Вероника💚
Great boots. I like the sweater and skirt. As far as proportions, the overall look would be better if the sweater was slightly shorter. The mask is a pretty print.
ReplyDeleteE.B.B.
Countess Sophie looks very smart. I love the movement of her skirt.

ReplyDeleteSophie, is now a member of Maxima’s hair club.
ReplyDeleteShe really isn't - no comparison at all.
DeleteAgree! She can be called and official member... :-)
