Today, Monaco Princely Palace hosted traditional Children's Christmas ceremony as it does every year. On December 16, 2020, Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco attended Children's Christmas ceremony held at the Princely Palace and gave gifts to refugee children. Princess Gabriella wore a new floral print raincoat from Jacadi Paris.

I am baffled by her choice of hairstyle. To me a shaved head is always uncomfortable to see
ReplyDeleteIndeed . For me too.
DeleteAgree with you Carla .
DeleteCharlene is a lovely person and does so many good works. Sometimes extreme changes can be a call for help. Hoping all is well; the children are growing up ,I like Gabriella's jacket
DeleteWell, as we would say in my neck of the woods, "Girlfriend is going through some 'thangs'. Humph."
DeleteThat aside, she does always seem to come to life around children and especially the children charities. You can see genuine joy in her eyes as she connects with the kids. And on the fashion note, I do love the sparkly mask. I think we all need to adopt those.

I can't stop laughing. Charlene is a very shy person, this is what I thought in all these years since she became a public person. Though I don't like hairstyles that involve a partly shaven head, this move is fabulous. I cannot even tell why. (-Ann.)
ReplyDeleteSuper cool Princess Charlene!
ReplyDeleteSome fans like their royals with 1970s shampoo adverts hairdos. Other fans, like me, j’adore Charlene’s confidence, boldness and adventurous spirit.
This is total Blade Runner/Mad Max vibes, and though it looks nothing like my own style (ponytail everyday), I love it!
Вера💚
Is it really a royal's role to give off "Blade Runner/Mad Max vibes"? Step back and think about what you just said in your frenetic applauding. A royal's role is to represent their country with dignity and to carry out representative functions in a dignified manner so that people can look up to them. Styling like a rockstar or certain movie figures of pop culture draws attention from the causes represented and is disturbing and disruptive on so many levels.
Delete"Step back and think about what you just said in your frenetic applauding.". Thanks for the chuckle. We could all use some light moments during this odd time in the world.
DeleteAs for a woman's personal style being "disturbing and disruptive," well, I prefer to read these images thusly: "royal couple teach by doing, walking the walk in the season of giving, and the woman is engaged in active listening of youngsters.". Yup, that appears about as disturbing as can be.
As for BR/MM film characters who showed great spirit in difficult circumstances, clearly those were my impressions, though Charlene would likely smile if she heard that.
Cheers!💚(who doesn't love a bit of enthusiastic punctuation?)
I agree with Anon11:16pm - This hairstyle (and perhaps the message behind it) is inappropriate for a member of a royal/princely family. ~Laurel~
DeleteOMG! I cannot believe she did that! Is she a rock singer or a princess?
ReplyDeleteMargo
I agree. It looks awful. What's wrong with a nice simple cut?
Delete... more a punk singer...
DeleteIs it just fake news with photoshopped photos?
DeleteFor Prince Albert, I hope this is the case.
Lost for words Charlene! A grown woman, this looks silly!
ReplyDeletePrincess Charlene is a beautiful women but why does she want to look so ugly with this new hairdo? This is not cool. A shaved or partly shaved head always reminds me of illness or prisoners. What does she want to say to the public? That she lives in a prison as well?
ReplyDeleteI have no words, I must say. Is she in need of a new way to express herself?
ReplyDeleteThe hair! I had to look over and over again to believe it! But I must admit: if there's one royal who can pull that off, it's her. I would love to see her face without the mask. A mask I'd like to have by the way, very glam! Indeed some Mad Max vibes going on.
ReplyDeleteShe always looks beautiful, all her hairstyles.... however this shaven look is very daring,I don't like it at all!Perhaps she has emptional problems or perhaps she just wants to show a daring, not at all boring, facet of her personality.
DeleteI wish her all the happiness in the world, she has always been extremely classy.
I never thought anything would make me like Maxima’s straight, untidy hair.....but this certainly does it. I would rather see that than this shaved head look, at least Maxima has hair. I do not think a shaved head style is flattering on any woman, but even more a princess...just awful.
ReplyDeleteMeghan
Agree. I had the same thoughts.
DeleteShe doesn't fit the cookie mold image of a princess. She has personality.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid she has just showed she has nót; personalities donot need provocations nor extreme changes of style.
Deletewhat? WHAT? WHAAAT??? Pls someone tell me the photos are photoshopped or that this was a panto show for the children hence it was all a costume from head to toe..... I am lost for words
ReplyDeleteI must say that I was stunned when I saw these photos of Charlene with this new "punk" hairstyle. Beyond stunned really.
ReplyDeleteI have always thought of Charlene as the height of elegance in her dress, manner and cultured voice. She has excelled in her role as a mother and representative of Monaco.
I just can't understand why she would do this to herself! Is she going through some kind of personal crisis and wanting to make a statement? This shaved look is definitely not cool, but a MAJOR TURN-OFF!!
I feel sad.
DeleteI’ve supported Princess Charlene over the years and especially during the periods when the media have been trying to tear her apart. My support for her comes from the fact that I am also from an African colonial, Rhodesian family, like Princess Charlene. I never saw the world outside of Rhodesia (the bush) until I became a teenager. Princess Charlene with her similar background has gone through a dramatic transformation of her simple colonial life into an aggressive life of money and bling-bling.
Certain “experts” have been saying for a period of time that in her behaviour there is a cry for help.
This is an area too deep for me to enter into but for some reason, her latest fashion expression has made me feel sad.
I’ll support my fellow country woman until the cows come home and hopefully, in a while, I’ll get over my sadness as Charlene fulfils her role as THE Princess of Monaco.
Is this for real? Strange hairstyle choice, that is mostly worn by popstars or some very alternative leftist leaning women. In any case it always looks trying soooo hard to be "cool" with unfortunately just tacky results. Can't believe she in her role chose such a hairstyle deliberately, it sure goes well with her representative duties and makes a great role model for children. Imagine Kate sporting such a hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteI can’t imagine Princess Grace reaction if she were on this earth.
DeleteYou one signs up for the job one needs to follow the protocol period.
I am afraid that she makes her own revolution....
ReplyDeleteThis is truly sad. Other than some mental health issue, I can't imagine why she would want to look like this.
ReplyDeleteAgree, similar as Britney Spears, when she shaved hear head..
DeleteI don't like this hairstyle but am honestly impressed that she had the guts to make the cut.
ReplyDeleteYoung, beautiful woman, Princess. And what???I don't understand it. Boyish style, rock star hairstyle... shy person with rock hair
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say about the hair but wth, go for it. J
ReplyDeleteWhat moves her to do this?? Very strange; her age to challenge the world should be finished years ago.
ReplyDeleteAs this is about fashion: very ugly.
I'm going to have to take a rest. I'll phone in my comment later. I think I'm having trouble with my eyes.
ReplyDeleteIs that really Charlene?
ReplyDeleteI aked myself the same ...
If she has enough of it, she can comb everything over to the shaven side to hide it :-) - She looked excellent with a short hairstyle, some years ago, so this can be a short episode if she changes her mind (which she will do anyway). Princess Punk ROFL
ReplyDelete(-Ann.)
Royal followers are now running for the salts and with their hair on fire. I am a fan of very short hair and keep mine very short on the sides but without showing scalp, that being said, I don’t particularly like this haircut or her, but not for protocol issues. In my opinion hair is just hair and when we don’t like it, we let it grow, or re-color, or change it, the shaved sides would be covered in a couple of weeks if she doesn’t like it.
ReplyDeleteNo judgement on my part, but I am a little puzzled about her choice, I have seen many women opt for very radical haircuts as a matter of disruption and escape, again not saying that’s the case, and I hope that she is happy and just being adventurous.
CB
Attention seeking? Britany moment? Ugly is the one word to describe.
ReplyDeleteShe has lost her mind. She is a very strange person. She rarely wears jewels even when she attended a few royal weddings which all the other queens, princesses, countesses, duchesses, wore tiaras, she did not. I really don't understand her at all.
ReplyDeleteUnknown, I seriously don't think that we will ever understand her. I so agree with you, she is a strange person. The whole world can see, she is not happy, she is miserable, she never smiles! Is she, or has she ever been happy in Monaco, with Albert? And yes, why didn't she accompany Albert, to weddings and enthronements?
DeleteI’m not a fan of this hairstyle on anyone. I loved her chic, flapper style bob. I dont know what to make of the pictures. She looks very animated which seems out of character for her or at least the Charlene I’m used to seeing.
ReplyDeleteThe twins look great. Like both of their coats.
E.B.B.
I can't imagine anyone would say this was a fine choice of hairstyle for a Serene Highness of Monaco, or any royal lady ! In the third image, she looks quite scary ! I am surprised at Charlene, usually always so elegant ! It begs the question! Why ?! Ana
ReplyDeleteFinally, Maxima is in the clear now!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! She definitely is.
DeleteMeghan
Maxima? What do you mean?
DeleteI'm stunned and not at all sure that this is a good look. However, I'm with those who have some admiration for her being brave enough to do this. Do you think she did it for a dare? Certainly her eyes are full of fun and mischief above her mask, more than the restrained look you often see from her. Children are as cute as ever.
ReplyDeleteThe haircut is an absolute mess. I can't even imagine what it would look like when it starts growing out.
ReplyDeleteAah, there you go Anon 12:36 AM, you're spot on! I hope she will very soon regret it, big time!
DeleteOh wow, nothing else to say. - rita -
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is... oh my goodness! I find those with such shaved heads repulsive and disturbing, sorry
ReplyDeletePassed the first shock after seeing the photos, I now think I feel sorry for her. Criticising her poor style choice is easy - because it is ugly indeed - but maybe we should see beyond the haircut: is this the ultimate cry for help? is she desperately trying to be heard and seen (by the Monegasques, the Grimaldis, the general public), is she feeling repressed hence the need to create shock-waves to be finally noticed? I don't know, but it certainly looks like that. For a shy person, this must be really a desperate-situation-calls-for-desperate-means type of situation. As some other commenters have noticed on several occasions, the little princes are rarely seen smiling - their birthday photos being the last example - it would sadden me tremendously if this is indeed a reflection of the unhappy family environment they live in. Who knows what they witness on a daily basis. Charlene and Albert may be smiling for the cameras but children cannot fake their emotions (whoever is a parent knows this). So sad....
ReplyDeleteK.B.
I suspect you are right, K.B. People -- well-adjusted adults, anyway -- don't normally do things this radical to their appearance. Although shocking, it is not necessarily calculated to shock -- but I do think it is a type of cry for help, as you suggest.
DeleteNow she and Albert have similar hair...or lack of. She's so cool!
ReplyDeleteYou know what, I think it's ugly and I don't actually think Charlene is that beautiful as she has an odd body shape, but love the punk finger to what princesses are supposed to look like.
ReplyDeleteI just can't believe what I am seeing, unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that -- as a contributor further up the page noted -- this hairstyle permits the hair to be parted differently, covering the shaved area to create a completely normal look. My daughter-in-law (quite a few years back) did what Charlene has done and showed me how the style can be converted.
ReplyDeleteWhen Albert saw this, he must have been in shock...
Was hat sie bloss mit ihren schönen blonden Haaren gemacht ??
ReplyDeleteSome of us thought the bangs were bad, I will take them any day over this hairstyle if that is what you call it. What is next a tattoo. I am sure Princess Grace is turning over in her grave. Hopefully she will wear a wig until her hair grows out . Shocked, stunned!
ReplyDeleteNon mais là elle a pété un câble...Mon Dieu...Grace Rainier. Ma chère Caro qu'elle honte elle doit avoir... même Stéphanie 'aurzit pas osé..
ReplyDeleteMaybe she got ringworm at school. Or fell asleep with chewing gum in her mouth only to wake the next morning with it stuck in her hair on that side? I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation other than a desperate cry for help. Right?
ReplyDeleteLol, my first thought was gum too!
DeleteThe House of Grimaldi is going Blade Runner? WTH? LOL. I'm just not sure what to say here. (OK, I'm not complaining about Maxima again)
ReplyDeleteChel
Princess Charlene has stated that she's suffered from emotional difficulties in the past few years. She was honest and that is brave. But this? I agree with KB. This hairstyle is a cry for something. Help? Attention? I have met the princess a few times in the past and she is very kind and tries hard to present the most elegant image. She stayed away from jewelry to be different (see socialite heiress Aerin Lauder's take on this years ago, "When I'm truly dressed-up, I'm not wearing any jewelry."). Also, because she had a bad experience with a certain luxury fashion house who "tricked" her into wearing their jewelry on the red carpet once and she was offended by this and while I don't know for sure, from what I learned, she doesn't want to appear gaudy when couture fashion is in the mix and likes for her hair, makeup and clothing to "do the talking."
ReplyDeleteAnywho, this is very strange. Not really sure what to say, but no longer am in touch with the people who might be able to shed some light.
I am shocked at some of the comments toward a hair style, it actually looks fine. It is not that unusual in the real' world'. I don't think she has any hidden agendas some have suggested 'like a cry for help or mental reasons,' hair will grow back. She may like it or she may never do it again, surely it is her choice. I think people should prepare for some different choices in hair styles and life choices in the new generation of Independent young women of royalty that are growing up.
ReplyDeleteWell said Gail. I was thinking the same way and I agree with every point you make. This is a new generation of independent women and young girls. This is nothing new for the Grimaldis. Princess Stephanie had her wild moments too, not that long ago.
Delete(I must say I'm laughing reading some of the comments and seeing people nearly apoplectic, and reaching for their smelling salts. lol. Other comments are just plain mean and intrusive. Don't like those).
- Anon 9:13
omg what did she do..
ReplyDeleteDid anyone stop to think that if she was unbalanced, Albert would not have allowed her to attend this function? Maybe she decided to change her hair because she could? I get that it is something that so many just can't wrap their heads around, but there is no rule book for royals. I see it over and over again on this blog. These so-called rules are being quoted while calling out one royal or another. There is no rule that Charlene's hair has to look a certain way. While avant garde, she is not the only woman to wear her hair this way. Comparing her to Britney Spears is way off. Britney shaved her own head so drug testing could not be done on her hair. Charlene's hair has been done by a stylist. Her last cut, the short bob, was mostly panned. If we are being honest, she is harshly judged on this blog. Also, if we are being honest, anything considered out of the ordinary for a royal meets with resistance on this blog, no matter who we are discussing.
ReplyDeleteTo all the armchair psychiatrists, one haircut does not equal "a call for help", it is only "disturbing and disruptive" to those who choose to see it that way, she is not trying to say she is "a prisoner", it does not mean this is a "personal crisis", it does not mean she has a "mental health issue", it does not make her a "poor role model" to her children or any other children, it in no way means "she has lost her mind", nor it does not indicate the "ultimate cry for help" -- "desperately trying to be heard". It means she got a haircut. If there is continued behavior that could be considered bizarre, it will be Albert's business, not ours. I have confidence that he will be able to handle whatever comes their way. Until we hear anything different, I can only say that while I would not wear my hair that way, I admire her for having the guts to try something new. It is only hair, and it will grow back quickly. At least she isn't married to the same tacky, outdated, decades old hairstyle so many royals are. That is very refreshing. I certainly hope those that are disgusted by the appearance of her look don't feel as disgusted by a chemo patient that has lost their hair.
That was below the belt the comment you made about the chemo patient. I do not think anyone would compare the two together. It 's just that it was a shock for her to go from one extreme to another. You cannot say it did not get your attention when you first saw her!
DeleteTotally agree with everything you have said could not have said it better.
DeleteThank you for your comment. It was a disheartening to hear peoples repulsed towards a bare scalp, something that some ill people cannot help.
DeleteI would like to add thought that Britney Spears was undergoing severe mental health challenges when she shaved her head. I haven't heard the theory that it was to avoid drug testing. But I don't find it in good taste when others bring up this very challenging moment in her life without giving her grace and empathy for her situation and mental illness but rather trivialize and judge her. We don't make fun of people who have physical illnesses such as cancer or hepatitis, why is making fun of someone's mental illness okay? Often times it is not something they can help.
To 4:11
DeleteYour comment balances all these home-made psychiatres' analyses.
I had just come from haircut (Beatrix-style but shorter) when I saw these photos. What on earth? I got a great laugh. Then I read dozens of odd comments. There were only a few with some sense. May I add some remarks, mostly to others.
Children's Christmas party in the palace is not a solemn event where "the princess represents her country elegantly", but a children's party with show program. It has grown livelier during Albert's time (if compared with earlier times). It's NOT the Queen's Garden Party in London!
Albert has in several interviews told that he appreciates Charlene's wonderful sense of humour. We can be pretty sure that Charlene had Albert's "permission" for the haircut. And for heaven's sake, hair grows!
"The twins never smile in photos". For a shy person to be photographed is extremely difficult. One must concentrate not to run away. It is NOT a sign of mental illness, it is just one's character feature. I have experienced this "non-smiling", it's really nothing unhealthy.
Margot
Anon 4:11, that was a great comment, thank you for that!
Delete- rita -
I absolutely agree with you, and couldn't say any better, leave the woman alone, unfortunately there are people in the world, and so many here who follows the Royals who thinks that there are a Protocol for every single thing. The hair cut is a personal choice, none of us knows Charlene intimately to be presuming things on her actions. Take your bad judgement for yourself, she is not asking for your opinion.
Delete@Anon 4:11 Spot on! Well said and well done for saying it better than most of us could.
DeleteI am enjoying Charlene's independence and refreshing view of a new style of modern royalty. She does things her way and I applaud her for that.
- Anon 9:13
@8:48 I can clarify the information about Britney Spears. She did in fact have a breakdown in 2007. Whether it was caused by the use of drugs (amphetamines) or if the drug use coincided with her mental issues is not something I am sure of. She was in the midst of a custody battle with her ex husband, and had her first stint in rehab before checking herself out a day later. A few days after that, she went to a salon to have her hair shaved off for fear a judge would order drug testing using her hair. The stylist would not do it, so she did it herself, all the while the paparazzi were outside fighting for the best photos. She did end up under a conservatorship, which still exists today, and she lost custody of her children. Today, she has regained 30% custody of her children, and would like for the conservatorship to be removed, but a judge just extended it for another year. BTW, she did eventually return to rehab, and she reportedly completed the program.
DeleteMaybe she had a tiff with Albert. Perhaps she's trying to embarrass him.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me she's making the Christmas program about her, detracting from
the cause at hand.
Charlene has gone punk! Speechless but in a good way. It's hair! It will grow back, and in the meantime she can do a combover or wear wigs. Some posters confuse fairy tales and Disney adaptations with actual flesh and blood people who live on earth for only a short time. There is no princess handbook. Breathe, everyone will be fine. M.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, Charlene, a punker in the Prince's Palace. Oh dear! ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by her hairdo, too. Then I shifted my attention to her eyes. The way she looked at children was full of tenderness.
ReplyDeleteDid she shave her hair as a support for a young cancer patient? This seems a bit out of left field and could be a call for help? I hope she's ok.
ReplyDeleteI am somewhat concerned at the sudden, provocative change. For a woman of her age and position, it is most unusual. The night before, she had a full head of hair at the Bal de Noel for her foundation.
ReplyDeleteOne possibility is if she developed alopecia areata. Most people who get it swear that it happens overnight. One minute the area was normal, the next minute there’s a bald patch (it happened to a loved one of mine). The head shaving may be to make the best of a bad situation. I notice her eyebrows also look like they’re missing and were drawn on. Hope she isn’t have a psychological breakdown.
She didn't attend the Bal de Noël.
DeleteWere you invited to the Bal too and you didn' t see her, did you?
DeleteWhat a pity.
If a women tries to start new from a difficult place, she will change her hair. All the best for Princess Charlene.
ReplyDeleteHannah
Charlene's new hairstyle is growing on me. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Saying that, I don't think it is appropriate for a princess to have such a hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like it too. And fit for a princess? The whole concept of kings and princes, monarchies in other words, is obsolete. And last but not least: Monaco is a princedom that nobody takes in the least serious..... not even the princes themselves what is a good thing IMO. I read in the Richard Burton diaries that Rainier and Grace, who he knew well, never felt comfortable outside of Monaco for that reason.

Toutefois si elle lui plaît ,tant mieux.
Les enfants sont toujours aussi adorables.
Le manteau de Gabriella est très joli ainsi que sa coiffure.

Before criticizing anyone ever thought she might be sick and will be undergoing intense treatment causing hair loss and she's trying to have a laugh at it? I say this because I know people who do it before their treatments. Just a reminder we don't know the circumstances so hold your judgement.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe holidays.
Charlene is a from nature a beautiful woman with top length and figure. She did not not need any plastic surgery or now a monthly new hairstyle . It distracts from all the good work she does for charities and the lovely mother she is.
ReplyDeletePrincess's Charlenne haircut, left me with no words.
DeleteYou are judging a woman you do not know and you do not know anything about her private life. Some of you are speculating if she is mental ill, how rude can you be? Maybe it's time to close this comment field, if personal attacks are the main issue. After all it's only about her hair, which I find very interesting and a little bit bold :) Happy holidays to everybody and try to relax!

Exactly my thoughts.

Nobody knows Charlene personally.
Relax everybody.
Merry Christmas.
Totally agree with you, Rita.

When a person in her position chooses this kind of extreme haircut, it is reasonable to expect people to respond to that, don't you agree? What else would she expect?
DeleteYou go girl! Exciting to see someone who are not afraid to step outside the Princess box and follow her own heart. Give a shi... about the know it all criticised. You look smashing!
ReplyDeleteHer new haircut is an act of defiance towards the monegasque system. Action speaks louder than words. Hope she is doing ok.
ReplyDeleteReally?
DeleteDid Charlene told you confidentially?
Her hair looks fun and young and there is a sparkle in her eyes. I like her coat and mask as well as Albert's tie.
ReplyDelete-B.
I wouldn’t say this hairstyle is troubling; I would say it is an avant- gard fashion right now. Charlene has always liked to play with the more trendiest more edgy styles from top French fashion houses and I see this as no different. Truly, this is a style right now. I’m a young white collar woman and my highly educated white collar women colleagues, many of whom are leaders or rising stars in their specialties, have gotten variations of this partially buzzed style —“undercuts”, or “side cuts”. It’s really a fashion trend right now and I’m not talking about punk. Charlene is playing with the latest avant garde style and is not at alll alone. I would never ever do it myself but I think this is kind of cool. You can from her eyes that tell she feels strong and confident in her new style.
ReplyDeleteTo those saying she is having a mental breakdown, if that’s true we will no doubt find out in due course so why not withhold judgement in this moment. Women can adopt high fashion haircuts without suffering a mental illness, good grief. I know this sentence will be inflammatory but — this comment thread smacks of retrograde sexism. Why not trust women? Charlene has seemed so uncomfortable in the spotlight before, I’m happy that she is channeling her bold playful side (not referring just to her haircut -look at her body language here!) and seems more sure of herself in front of the cameras.

Your entire comment is an incredibly refreshing gem among such judgmental jabs, but "this comment thread smacks of retrograde sexism" made me laugh. You hit the nail on the head with that one. Charlene is clearly the most happy and at ease as I have ever seen her here, yet all anyone wants to focus on is a haircut they deem ugly/inappropriate because they dislike it or it does not fit some archaic ideals of what it means to be royalty..
E. abgrenzen. Von ihren Schwägerinnen, von der Palastetikette.

ReplyDeleteI am very sorry for her, but this is a big mistake. In this way we cannot see a first lady of Monaco in her. What is going on in her mind, does she have serious problems, is this a cry for attention? Or help?
ReplyDeleteI think her hairdresser hates her
ReplyDeleteI feel like she did this to piss off Albert. Oh well she can wear a hat of some sort until it grows out a little more.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, the coat is gorgeous. But the hair reminds me of Nazi youth.
ReplyDeleteI am shocked about this hairstyle. What is wrong to have a pretty hairdo which underlines her beauty? Why does Princess Charlène wants to look so ugly? To me it seems to be a deeper mental health problem. Normally young women in their teenage years or twens are testing provocative styles like an undercut, blue or green hair and so on . But what the heck is going on in a 42 years old woman and mother to choose this haircut? Of course she has thin hair but this is not the reason. Her style reminds me of Britney Spears who shaved her hair in a cry for help. I hope she is getting help.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. This haircut doesn´t seem to be her personal taste. If she was this adventurous and extravagant by nature, she would have dressed differently in the past. But Charlene has always come across as introverted and shy, and this hairstyle is everything but. I don´t want to interpret a message into it, but I highly doubt she got this cut because she found it beautiful.
DeleteTo me, it certainly isn´t beautiful. It´s quite awful.
I don´t like her outfit either, and the whole scene is rather bizarre with a punk princess, all the masks and a freaking-looking Santa handing out unwrapped merchandise in a shop-desk setting. It´s more like a MyLittlePony advertising event than a magical Christmas festivity.
Help needed for some comments as well.
DeleteTime for all of you that got your psychology degree in google, to take a deep breath.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a haircut!!! I think you need to chill out, perhaps you don’t go out much?

The coat is really interesting. I don’t know what to think about the hairstyle. To me it looks bad from the back, and worse from the side. It will be interesting to see how it will grow out. (V.M.)

ReplyDeleteWow - so many comments. Princess Charlene has to be a special kind of person with grit, determination, will, personality and individuality to get to the top of world swimming. She'd also need psychological resilience, so I think the idea of a haircut meaning she's falling apart doesn't hold. She does Princess her own way too. Elle
ReplyDeleteWow! The comment section has never been so crowded! Wishing everyone Merry Christmas & a blessed 2021!

ugly
ReplyDeleteI admit to being unsure about the haircut at first glance, even being a grown woman with a partially shaved head myself, but it has grown on me. I applaud her for having the courage to try such an edgy hairstyle, especially considering she knows that she is under scrutiny at all times.. As soon as I saw the post, I knew the comments would (mostly) be unnecessarily rude and hoped to be proved wrong. I wasn't.
ReplyDeleteHair is hair. Those of us outside of the public eye are free to change the length, color, and style without facing ridicule from strangers. I see no reason why royals shouldn't have that same freedom. I, for one, prefer my royals on the "taboo" side of things. It's more relatable for us regular folk that way.
Let's remember that there is no rulebook for the royals and, if there was, it would be uncomfortably outdated and expecting them to act in any specific way is ridiculous.

ReplyDeleteAgreed.
Internet harassment can be considered a mental deviation itself.
Love it! She looks like a badass Viking princess.
