In order to celebrate fourth Sunday of Advent, Norwegian Royal family, that is, King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus got together at Oslo Slottskapellet (The Royal Palace Chapel). Prince Sverre Magnus lighted the fourth candle in the Advent wreath. The Royal family wished everyone a happy fourth Sunday of Advent with a video they released.

Very nice, all these pictures of a good family.
ReplyDeleteMM wears a surprising colour that suits her very well, and Ingrid Alexandra is growing into a real beauty! ( not that that is necessary or important because she seems cute).
Very nice pictures of this handsome and lovely family. Nice to see King Harald out and about after his health issues!
DeleteStunning pictures!
ReplyDeleteIconographic!
Why do Ingrid always wear black? Is she in constant mourning? Learn from your grandmother.
ReplyDeleteShe isn't always in black. She's a teenager still discovering her sense of style and what she feels most confident and beautiful in.

DeleteGreat pictures. It's nice to see them all out together. I'm sure this holiday season will be difficult for them.
DeleteQueen Sonja looks great in her cream dress with green accessories. I like M.M.'s dress. The color is festive and looks great with her coloring. Ingrid dress is nice. Its' stylish and age appropriate. She really is a mix of her parents.
E.B.B.
She doesn't though?? She has worn a black Maje dress a few times, that she also has a blush pink version of. She wore the same black Pia Tjelta dress for this year's birthday portrait, and at the official Christmas photos last year. And now the dress shown in these photos. Three dresses isn't really that much, and I think she sends a good signal by wearing the same clothes several times in public/at official events.
DeleteI didn't include her black/blue/purple lace dress from Self-Portrait, as I don't really consider it to be all black.
This year she has shown herself in two of her beautiful bunads and a colourful flowery dress at her school graduation. Last year she showed herself in the same beige outfit on two different occasions, and a white dress at her confirmation.
Well, this Christmas marks the 1 year anniversary of her former uncle's death, so I'd be a bit sad too.
DeleteSomeone should really be ashamed off themselves stepping all over a young vulnerable girl. Congratulation. To inform you we have seen Ingrid in pink dresses, in white, blue, pale blue, purple, floral, plaid, nude and yes in black. So give us a break. And try behaving like an adult.
Deletewhy Ingrid Aleandra is wearing black, she is a teenager. and maybe a litte goth and a bit like her mother who also was little rebel when younger. Mette-marit turned out well, ingrid will also just have a litle patient and let her be a teenager.
DeleteI am wondering if this is the same person who also criticized Catharina-Amalia for her appearance? Please remember that while Princesses, these are also just young teenage girls.
DeleteIngrid looks lovely, her dress is appropriate for a Princess and the colour is her choice. I personally don't wear much black, I just don't like it, but I think this dress looks great on Ingrid and she seems happy to make her appearance and do her reading, I don't really know what more you can expect of a royal that young.
Because you mentioned her grandmother, I'll tell you a funny story. For the announcement of her engagement to Harald, Sonja wore a (lovely!) skirt suit - in black. Later she would say of this: "Oh my goodness, nobody had told me that as a Princess, you're not supposed to wear black unless you're in mourning or it's an evening appearance!"
But that was the 60s. And this was an evening appearance by Ingrid, so I guess we're fine either way ;-)
Come on, Ingrid Alexandra would be gorgeous even dressed with a sack!
Delete* dressed in a sack
DeleteAgree with Maria!
DeleteIngrid Alexandra has grown into a very beautiful young woman--not surprising given her handsome parents. She's just a little like the Duchess of Cambridge in the last photo. Good to see King Harald looking well after his recent health issues. Love this dress of Mette-Marit's so much that when she wore it the first time I did try to source it to wear at my my son's wedding but sadly out of stock everywhere.
ReplyDeleteIngrid A is becoming more beautiful. She does look like Kate in that last photo.
DeleteThank you! finally someone agreed with my thoughts :-) I have been commenting several times on this blog about the similarities with Kate in her early years before the engagement, but many commented that they didn't see it. In the last photo she reminds me of that photo of Kate in a gorgeous white coat, with a side zipper, attending William's graduation from military school - almost identical twins! She is really beautiful and I much prefer her fuller face (which is also thanks to her youth of course)

.I agree. The future queen of Norway Ingrid Alexandra really is a beauty. IMO she looks a lot like a young Kate.
DeleteIngrid Alexandra is a stunning young lady, she looks beautiful. Queen Sonja looks beautifully groomed, I love what she is wearing. MM looks fabulous, beautiful splash of colour, the dress suits her perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI love how CP MM shows emotion. All look wonderful. And "Anonymous" just because people wear black doesn't mean they're in mourning. She likes black, like a lot of people do. - Capt. Marvel
ReplyDeleteBravo to you, Capt. Marvel. A lot of us like black, plain black, dark colors, and we're not weird or in mourning or goths. Nice photos of this family. ~Laurel~
DeleteAlways looks better with a pop of colour though. :-)
DeleteOMG, how beautiful is Ingrid Alexandra?! Just stunning.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family: The Queen looks sad in one photo, but it's only a micro second of her life.
ReplyDeleteIngrid Alexandra bears a remarkable resemblance to Kate in the fouth pic IMO.
ReplyDeleteShe is stunningly beautiful!
Indeed they all are good looking and dignified.
Love Mette Marit's dress with its rich deep colour and perfect tailoring.
God bless all of them.
Ingrid is stunningly beautiful
ReplyDeleteAgree as for Ingrid Alexandra - she is getting more and more beautiful. Mette-Marits facial expression is heartwarming. Every inch the loving mother. Wonderful family!
ReplyDeleteThey all look absolutely fantastic. And about Ingrid Alexandre wearing black. So what. So do we all. She is absolutely gorgeous. We should know better then criticising young people.
ReplyDeleteI can see we have pulled out our imaginary book of fashion rules again. It is so tiresome. Black is not just for funerals, only worn in autumn and winter, or only worn by youth in the punk or goth scene. It does not need a pop of color either. It can be worn any time of year, without any meaning attached to it. The weight of the fabric changes, and the style of the clothing changes according to the time of year.
ReplyDeleteIngrid Alexandra is a beautiful young lady, dressing in an age appropriate manner. Her life has been predetermined through no fault of her own, so she had better be able to have some freedoms now while she can. Kudos to mom and dad for letting her have that freedom.
Hear hear! My thoughts exactly!
