Queen Sonja lighted the first candle in the Advent wreath at the Royal Palace
Queen Sonja lighted the first candle in the Advent wreath at the Royal Palace. The Queen shared a related photo and a message on her website. In her message, the Queen says: "As we begin what will be a different way to celebrate the Advent this year, I believe it is important for us to share light and hope with each other. Today, we light the first candle in the Advent wreath here at the Palace. It is my hope that these special weeks leading up to Christmas will fill us all with joy and good cheer."
Nice to see her looking well after their latest Covid quarantine.
ReplyDeleteIt is always a pleasure to see her!
ReplyDeleteIt's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The Queen is lovely, as always.

Quel plaisir de voir la reine toujours aussi charmante vêtue avec beaucoup de goût ; j'aime beaucoup la simplicité de son petit collier à deux rangs du même style que sa petite broche montés sur argent !
ReplyDeleteWhite dress and purple amethysts - love it! HM Queen Sonja always look so well groomed and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes , indeed.
DeleteAs a previous commentor stated, the Queen always looks so well groomed and beautiful. Maxima, take note. No huge hats indoors, not leather skirts, large jewelry, mustardly colored outfits, just plain elegance, well groomed (includes the hair) and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBut Queen Maxima is Queen Maxima with all her lumps and bumps, figuratively speaking.
DeleteAnd she is adorable just like Queen Sonja.
I think that each queen of them has her own personality , age , style , character and culture . And both of them is beautiful on her own way.
DeleteAdoro questa regina 🥰
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as always.
ReplyDeleteSympathische und elegante Königin Sonja !!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!!!
DeleteI really love her, she's looking particularly good today.
ReplyDeleteThe candles should not be red. They should be three purple and one pink to denote the season of Advent.
ReplyDeleteAnd some Catholic churches have a 5th white candle in the middle to light on Christmas Day.

When I looked it up, the opinions were all over the place. Some sources say red, white, or a combination of the two, while some say all purple. Then not all use a wreath, opting for a more modern candle holder.
DeleteMaybe it is different in Norway
DeleteFour purple, red or white candles are used in Norway, but purple is more traditionally.
Delete@Anon 9:13 We switch to four white on Christmas Day. I am Catholic. It just depends where you are, I guess.
DeleteShe looks utterly gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteShe looks beautiful. What a gorgeous outfit, perfect for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteChel
