Queen Maxima visited the BovenIJ Hospital in Amsterdam-Noord
On November 5, 2020, Dutch Queen Maxima visited the BovenIJ hospital in Amsterdam to get informed about the impact of the corona pandemic on the regular care in hospitals and the social impact. The BovenIJ hospital is a general basic hospital located in Amsterdam-Noord. Afterwards, the Queen visited the Krijtmolen d’Admiraal (chalk mill) in Amsterdam-Noord. Krijtmolen d’Admiraal was built in 1792. During her visit Queen Maxima spoke with former covid patients.
I really like the cut of this dress. I think it really suits her. I don’t like the pattern of the material, it just too much for me and reminds me of coat linings.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! This is an attractive dress that fits, the colors flatter Maxima, and the style is not over the top but appropriate. She is not over accessorized and she is masked. Her shoes are a nice neutral match. The only flaw that I can see would be is her poor undergarment situation, and I will happily overlook it to see more of this Maxima.
ReplyDeleteDress: drab
ReplyDeletePurse: clashes with the print on the dress
Hair: MESSY. time to act like a woman your age, cut it, get rid of split ends and use a brush, and products that help, rather than hurt the hair.
I agree with your points. The only nice looking piece...the shoes.

How can a black purse clash with the black in the plaid?
DeleteWould you please elaborate on "time to act like a woman your age"? I am not sure what that means.
Sorry, but I am bursting out laughing again about " like a woman your age".
DeleteTrue, Maxima needs doing something for her damaged hair, but this cannot become a generale rule for women her age!!
Please, get on a time machine and get out when reaching 2020 A.D.
Thank you.
Nice dress to usher in fall. Like the suede pumps too, very Autumnal. I wish she didn't pair her outfit with that black, oversized, and somewhat slouchy woven leather clutch. It matches the mask but doesn't go with her dress. Plus, with the dress already being busy (due to the patterns), the woven nature of the bag is tips the outfit into too busy territory. A nice, simple, cognac or greige box-shaped clutch or purse would have been better.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress, the plaid, neckline and great cut too. Agree about the accessories. The shoes are nice but would have loved them and her purse to pick up one one the colors in the print like her earrings did- the deep red or green or navy. Also agree about the hair, I think loose is nice but some wave or style to it would have brought it all together.
ReplyDeleteNot her best but nice.

I wish Queen Letizia would give her a lesson on how to get her clothes properly tailored. The top of this dress just doesn't sit right. She certainly is toning it down lately. I do like this dress though for her, the cut is great and perfect for autumn. Simple accessories. A good haircut would manage the damage in her hair and make a huge difference (as well as some Olaplex, the miracle for damaged hair).

I agree. There is so much missed potential when it comes to Maxima.
DeleteYes, Anon, but baby steps. The silhouette is flattering on her, it is not too tight, and it is not flamboyant. She is moving in the right direction. I may have to eat my words the next time we see her, but I will take this as a win!
DeleteYesss!!
DeleteI was just wondering why she does not go to a salon for a complete Olaplex treatment!
Personally, I only like her shoes and smile.

ReplyDeleteThe dress is nice, but they would need to liven up with more colorful accessories. Hair - this is a lost cause. Messy as always.
ReplyDeleteSuch earrings look like cheap plastic rings.
During the last months I often wondered what nanny-like garments all other royals were allowed pulling over their wax figurine-like bodys whereas my mostly adored Maxima was always being judged as colorblind, too pompous, not neat enough. With her hair messy, uncempt, too long, never age-appropriate.
ReplyDeleteIn the pictures above we see an elegant, modern woman in a dress that flatterns her personality as much as her skin-type. Shoes and tights fit perfectly well, couldn't even not better have been chosen.
Whenever I see Queen Maxima, her whole being says: "I'm alive now without being anybodys jumping jack."
What I most like about her is her cool hair.
Horribly ill-fitting dress, which would have been paired better with boots. I have come to the conclusion that Maxima is a bit a sloppy person at heart, with not much dress or style sense of her own. I know many women who are like that, not a big issue, unless your job is purely a representative one. In her case, it is all about representation and not much else. Why not taking a stylist to sort things out if appearance is not your thing? Or is it because everything else that she does (her ‘work’) also has been prepared and gone through by staff..... All the interested questions that are being asked at every visit by her or her husband: someone else put them together beforehand etc. All speeches: written by others. Maybe she feels that her appearance is the one thing of her own making, together with the acting out of the script of course......

I would love to see no more plastic bottle of water on tables where u have a meeting. I know in Covid times other options are difficult, but let’s hope to see glass in the future. I like her plaid outfit.
ReplyDeleteI like the dress very much, but I don’t think the bodice fits her as well as it should. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima looks great. Love this dress .
ReplyDeleteLike the cut and style of this outfit and the shoes are great. Definitely prefer Maxima in brighter colours.
