Queen Margrethe II presented H.C. Ørsted Gold Medal
On November 27, 2020, Queen Margrethe presented H.C. Ørsted Gold Medal to Professor Charles Marcus at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek art museum in Copenhagen. The medal was awarded on the basis of recommendations from Danish universities and research institutions, and the professional assessment was made by a committee of five members of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Letters.
Professor Charles Marcus's research field is quantum electronics. With the support of the energy company Ørsted, the Society for the Dissemination of Natural Sciences awards that medal chiefly to Danes for scientific achievements. The Society's founder was Hans Christian Ørsted.
Like the collar of the jacket and the jaunty hat.
ReplyDeleteThe exact things that stood out to me too. She looks lovely.

She’s such a character and I love it.

DeleteWonderfull unusual colour combination and a little naughty hat!
Yes, she has a special character and it's always a joy to see her out and about.
DeleteLove her outfit. The colour combination has a "Christmas" look about it and I wouldn't be suprised if she did it on purpose. She loves fun and doing things a bit offbeat.
Apparently Queen Margrathe has a higher popularity rating than her cousin Queen Elizabeth II.
I do so wish she would get her teeth cleaned, but then that is from smoking, so a cleaning wouldn't last. Too bad she has that habit.
ReplyDeleteNot fond of the colors of her suit. She rarely misses fashion wise.
I like this Queen very much, but sorry, she is looking a tad theatrical here...
ReplyDeleteBut of course. That's her forté. She loves the scene. The theatre is her escape from Royal duties. It's the "fun" part of her work.

DeleteYes, you are right , but I just wonder if such an outfit is appropriate on this particular occasion, when scientists are awarded for their achievements...
Très tendance la combinaison rouge et Bordeaux de son ensemble. J'aime beaucoup son chapeau dans les mêmes couleurs. Il ressemble un petit peu à un canotier ; elle le porte très bien !
