On November 18, 2020, Queen Margrethe attended the Queen's Clock Parade 2020 at the Royal Life Guard barracks in Gothersgade and handed out the "Queen's Clock" to one guard selected for his exceptional service. After a period of service in the Livgarden, the Royal Life Guard selects the best guard of the period. This year, the selected guard became Mathias McKinnon and he received the clock from the Queen.

The handing over of "The Queen's Clock" has been a tradition since 1970, when Frederik IX first presented a clock at a farewell parade. "The King's Clock" changed its name as "The Queen's Clock" at the change of throne in 1972, and The Queen has since then continued the tradition. The event was attended by fewer people than usual due to the coronavirus situation.

  1. Très beau manteau dans cette couleur Bleu-roi ; avec le col relevé, c'est très chic mais je ne suis toujours pas fan de son bibi qu'elle a l'air de beaucoup aimer !

  4. Oh dear, that hat will never die. I have a good chuckle every time I see her wearing it. I've always liked the color of it, though. ~Laurel~

    1. Perhaps, like Anne, Britain's Princess Royal, Queen Margrethe believes clothes never go out of style. And, yes, the color is nice. Your post made me laugh.
