  1. Just my own opinion : I think she is already doing too much! I understand she wanted recognition, ok she got her, but now I expect her to go back to her art, her family etc. According to what I read in the Belgian press, she is already doing a lot of harm to the royalty. Above all, nobody wants to hear that she would now be claiming some money. Finally since it is a fashion blog, I hate her jeans.

    2. You are right.
She has not a position to represent the royal family, so this cannot be more than a personal visit, so why the press?

    3. Doing too much? How can it be possible to do too much to encourage and support such great causes? I really like her and feel she brings a fresh and sincere presence to an otherwise boring family. Jeans are always nice...she is not trying to overshadow anyone. I hope to see more of her.

  2. What a beautiful coat! But I find the trousers too casual.
What is more important: She seems to be genuinely interested in the people she talks to.

    @ Mary T.
Sorry for saying this , but I think that "I hate her jeans" is way too strong (I do not like the excessive length either, but...).

    1. @Maria, who are you ? The blog police? I do like the jeans, but if somebody else hates them.... why can’t they say it?
Really, you need to get a grip and stop telling people what they can and cannot write.

Can I ask you to do the same about the grip and other things?
      Thank you.
Some people need to criticize me too.
Can you please scold them as well?
You need to read well my comment.
I was speaking to Mary T. only and I was kind in my remark, which I can' t say about yours.
      Have a nice day.

    3. Hello 101, sorry SF. I guess Maria from Italy who has taken English on board as a second language (like me) probably finds the superlative "hate" as a bit too strong when expressing an opinion on a public forum.
I think she made a very polite comment and even offered her excuses before she said it. I'm a defence witness in front of the blog police if Maria from Italy is at risk of being dragged off to prison.

      What can I say?
      THANK YOU!!
      Another big hug for you!
Yes, I had already noticed that 101 and SF are the same person.
Dear SF/101, if I were you, I would try not being discovered so easily!

    5. I, for one, am happy to learn new things every day. I now know that a native English speaker's use of the word "hate" for a pair of jeans does not have the same devastating impact that it does to a non-native English speaker. I am sure we all agree that the use of the word "hate" toward a person or a group of people is extreme.

  7. The three visible parts of her clothing do not really go well together. The jeans, in whatever combination or alone, are simply - well, sorry: terrible. The face mask seems to draw attention to her own artistic achievement (the sculpture consisting of the letters in the word "love") which is not really something she should do when she is there in order to draw attention to vaccination. 1. I thought I recognized the print of her mask. Hopefully the mask she is wearing and its potential proceeds are connected to a charitable entity. Otherwise I'm afraid it does smell a bit like self-promotion.

I kind of like the coat. Its a bit whimsical. Not a fan of the bell bottom jeans.

  8. I would think that she could not make such official appearances without the consent of the King but, who knows what type of arrangements exist.

  9. I think it's written that she has been an active supporter of Flemish Red Cross for YEARS. If that is true, her support did not change, simply her status did and the media is following her because of her status. She is simply doing charity, wearing whatever clothes she wants to. The media wants to report is now that she is a princess. If it is harming the Belgian Royal Family, I guess they can ask the media not to report her activities? Unless Philippe actually does not care and doesn't think his sister is doing any PR harm for the family.

  10. I assume she wants to help, to make a difference by raising the profile of certain causes she finds dear to her heart. And I applaud her. I will not speculate on any mischievous intentions. She is the daughter of the previous king and entitled to recognition. She isn’t the problem, the infidelity of her father is. Therefore I cannot project any wrongdoing on her.

Sartorially speaking, the jeans certainly aren’t an appropriate choice. Unfortunately they dominate the overall impression when looking at the pictures. The coat seems like a good quality one, perhaps with hand embroidery. But all considered, in respect to the image she is projecting, it’s still (for me) proof of lack in understanding the expectations of a royal showing to perform an engagement.

  11. I saw no mention of this being an official visit, nor that she received any compensation. The article also states that she has supported this cause for years. Some of the remarks are idle gossip! Geez!!!

    1. This is a fashion blog. People are allowed to make comments. "Polite smile" we all have opinions, mine is that she is now well dressed in the photos.

  12. I have read comments. They all seem to have some sort of jealous. The princess is not thefe for bulshit recognition. She deserve something appreciative.

  13. It has been made clear that Delphine has been involved with the Red Cross for years. Bringing recognition to flu shots, especially this year, is a very good thing. She probably received press this year due to her new status, but that is not her doing. This all goes back to the behavior of her parents before she was born and during her childhood. She is the person she is, fashion style included, because of the life she has lived. Let's keep in mind that she lost a father (Jacques Boël), was denied by another for years (former King Albert II), and now that she has won recognition as her father's daughter by a legal proceeding, is suddenly supposed to conduct herself as a royal at all times? Nonsense. I have to admire her for not being fake because she now has a title. If she ever does attend an official event, and dresses in her Bohemian style, the criticism would be warranted. I believe she will know how to dress, or at least make an effort if that time ever comes. Until then, I would rather focus on the purpose of the visit.

  16. Money she does not need!..Her Step dad has more moolah than her royal side of the family..She's an accomplished artist with an impeccable educational background..Fashion wise I think she's hip!..she has a distinct style that suits her personality as an artist..doesn't need to impress with her dress sense as she has this quiet confidence about her and that is enough to define her look..Cool smart and sensible..
