November 1 marks the coronation day of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the 5th and current Druk Gyalpo (2008), and it is celebrated in Bhutan as Coronation Day. On this day in 2008, the formal coronation ceremony of The King as the Fifth Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan took place. On the occasion of Coronation Day, new photos of Bhutanese Royal Family were released. The photos of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck, Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck and Jigme Ugyen Wangchuck were taken at the Dechencholing Palace.
Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is the Druk Gyalpo (Dragon King) of the Kingdom of Bhutan. After his father Jigme Singye Wangchuck abdicated the throne in his favour, he became The King on December 9, 2006. A public coronation ceremony was held on November 1, 2008. 2008 marked 100 years of Monarchy in Bhutan.
Bhutanese royal family released November 2020 Calendar. The photo in November calendar showing together Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel and Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck was taken at the Dechencholing Palace. HRH Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck is now seven-and-a-half months old.
