The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited Vauxhall City Farm in London
On October 1, 2020, The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited Vauxhall City Farm in London, England. This month Vauxhall City Farm is running a programme of educational activities for Black History Month, aimed at schools in the area. Alongside community outreach programmes, the farm provides recreation benefits.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex spoke to staff and volunteers about adapting to new measures since re-opening and how they coped during lockdown. Vauxhall City Farm is one of the oldest central city farms in London.
Quand je regarde les images de Sophie avec les alpagas ? je craque, je craque.. Superbes bracelets avec émeraudes ? perles mais alors, le bout des manches d'un pull sous son manteau blanc ?!!
ReplyDeletecoat is ill fitting, looks too small, the green trousers are too short, or too green, or something, they are just not good looking. her hair was an after thought, not the usual well combed hair. edwards green plaid jacket is so old, I'm thinking he needs to throw it away, its not a good look on him, never had been.
ReplyDeleteSomebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
Deletesomebody did not wake up on the wrong side of the bed, they simply voiced their opinion, just as you did yours. If you look back, he wore a jacket the same style as this one (maybe this one) when his daughter was born all those many years ago.
DeleteWell-made quality tweed blazers are timeless classics and longlasting, and thus, contrary to fast fashion, also very ecological. Great to see him reuse the same blazer (if it is the same, though) year in, year out. They are a lovely and natural couple.

@ Anon 8:43 I don't think Sophie's coat is too small. If you want to find fault with something, I think her sweater sleeves are too long for the coat. This coat looks to me to have bracelet length sleeves. You can't even zero in on why you don't like the green trousers, "the green trousers are too short, or too green, or something", so it just sounds like you are in a mood. Pulling her hair into a ponytail is not an afterthought, using one of those awful clips is an afterthought. Women use those to get their up quickly when they are hot, doing housework or yard work, when they have a treatment on their hair...you get the idea. My stylist uses them when she is cutting my hair to section it off. They are really a tool more than accessory. Her hair looks just fine. What I will say about Edward's coat is that I would love to see it with some nice jeans and unbuttoned. He could do away with the pocket square and wear more casual shoes. I think that would be a nice look.
DeleteI like the coat, but not the jumper coming out of it!
ReplyDeletePrince Edwards jacket is of good classic British style .
As the old saying goes: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I behold a well-dressed countess whose coat is well fitted; as seen in photo no. 3, her slacks are almost touching the floor, not too short at all; and her pants and Edward's plaid jacket complement each other. Her hair, in an off-center ponytail, looks well groomed. I think the couple looks splendid.
ReplyDeleteI'm just here for the alpacas. What cuties!!!
ReplyDeleteJust to be clear, in the first photo, the Earl is the one standing behind the Countess , not in front of her.
ReplyDeleteSorry about my British humour. You know, sometimes it even gets me into trouble.
I like the coat, but the trousers and top look like random choices. I think this is a miss for me. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteOh well, there we are - I think they both look fine.
ReplyDeleteThe Earl and Countess are nicely coordinated. Sophie, what possessed you to wear a beautiful clean white jacket for a visit to a farm. And don't look away when you have your hand at the mouth of a strange/unfamiliar animal. ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteIt's fine Laurel - she and the alpaca are best friends and regularly meet for coffee.
DeleteSuch beautiful lady. I love the coat and trousers too. I think it siuts her perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSophie looks good with a low side ponytail. I like the coat but I am not a fan of her ruffled sweater poking out of the sleeves. I like the aubergine and olive together- very autumnal.

Je pense que Sophie doit être agréablement surprise par la langue de l'alpaga qui lèche sa main ; ce n'est certainement pas souvent qu'elle a l'occasion de donner à manger comme ça à un animal !

ReplyDeleteSophie looks great. I really like everything about her look. Bravo
ReplyDeleteA sturdy Jacket , Jeans and boots probably would have been a better choice for a farm visit.
ReplyDeleteBut I doubt they get dirty on these visits, or Sophie does not care much about this jacket anymore (we have seen it many times before). As for Edwards, I think he owns several similar jackets like one he is wearing here, so no telling how old it is.
All in all a good looking and refreshing couple!
Oh, checked the picture again, she is wearing boots!
Sophie looks lovely, very elegant. Love her bracelets.
