On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Denmark's liberation, Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended a memorial service at Spentrup Church and a wreath-laying ceremony at Hvidsten Inn.The celebrations of liberation should have actually taken place on May 4, 2020, which is the exact anniversary of the liberation, but due to the corona pandemic, the celebrations were postponed to October 11.

In 1943, Hvidsten Inn became the center for the Hvidsten group, which was part of the Danish resistance movement. Hvidsten group was arrested by the Gestapo, the secret German police, on 11 March 1944. Eight members of the group were sentenced to death and executed on 29 June 1944. In 1945, a memorial stone over the eight executed members of the Hvidsten group was raised near Hvidsten.

    Ce manteau de couleur prune comme les gants va à merveille à la princesse à l'occasion de cet anniversaire ; je ne vois pas très bien cette sorte de coiffe dans des motifs d'automne comme ses gants ?! Petits talons qui ont l'air confortables !

    I always love seeing Benedikte. She looks lovely. With the darker colors, I like the patterned hat and the peep of the bow at the collar. Beautiful pin. Always so classy.

    Classy as always. The color of the coat is different than most, yet lovely and almost matches the military hats. I'm not sure about her hat, cannot see it close enough to know what the pattern is, or just what it is. She is lovely as ever.

    Beautiful autumn/winter colour and look from Princess Benedikte. She never disappoints with her choice of outfits. And a very interesting hat, I may add! A very elegant lady.
