On October 21, 2020, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie visited the headquarters of Caritas Luxembourg. There, they presented a cheque to Mrs Marie-Josée Jacobs, President of Caritas Luxembourg. The Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess support child aid projects carried out by Caritas Luxembourg in Southern Sudan.
Today, more than one million children suffer from acute malnutrition in Southern Sudan. In the country, ten percent of children pass away when they are below the age of 5. The coronavirus pandemic has worsened this situation. At the international level, Caritas Luxembourg works side by side with the victims of natural disasters and violent conflicts, and in addition, supports rebuilding and rehabilitation work.
Good to see those smiles on their faces! Lovely couple!
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteOh Stéphanie, the jacket needs to be a size up and longer. I'm not criticizing her weight, just the fit and the jacket itself - it's way too short and doesn't fit well at all. Her happiness shines through; she's smiling and looks nice in the red. ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteAgree. Beautiful. The color is great. But the cut and the size (shoulder)are wrong. Lovely couple.
DeleteShe looks good. I like her close fitting pants, very flattering. Nice printed scarf accent. But I must say, those smiles are always the best accessory.

So much better. Very nice color on Stephanie. Her jacket tie is perfectly placed to give her shape at the smallest part of her body. I think it needs to be longer to be most effective. Her pants should have a wider leg so her hips are not emphasized as much. The length is good, though it looks like the legs may be two different lengths. She is not sitting in a very ladylike way--she may be comfortable but it looks bad. I like how Guillaume has coordinated his tie with Stephanie's outfit.
ReplyDeleteStephanie needs fashion advice. The jacket is short and poorly cut. Pants are not elegant. She had have better hair last last time.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend her dress in an "A" silhouette, an extended coat or a coat dress. She could ask the advice of her mother-in-law Marie Theresa. She still wears scarves that probably have something to disguise, but she could rather wear quality blouses (white - like her mother-in-law or with a bow like Princess Victoria)
And please spare me remorse for criticizing Princess Stephanie FASHION (not her personality). Today I was at work at the college where I teach, then visiting a community center for seniors in our village and cooked dinner for my family. No staff to help me. I think I was dressed more appropriately.
How lovely. Could we have photos just to make sure?
DeleteHate the word appropriate - if she's clean, tidy and made the effort to coordinate colours it's appropriate even if it's not especially stylish. Inappropriate would be a cropped top and hot pants...
Of all the people to go to for fashion advice, Marie Teresa and Victoria would not be the ones I would choose. MT has passed down some of her old gowns to Stephanie, who had them recut to fit her. Those were not her best moments. Victoria's style is clearly all her own and very dowdy, with a surprise gem in the mix. That is nothing to strive for. Stephanie should have her own style, and that can be developed with the help of a professional. Her body, coloring, and lifestyle all need to be taken into account. It would be a better investment than throwing good money after bad on her current wardrobe mistakes.
DeleteI am so happy for them . They look relaxed and happy . About the outfit , no I think she could do better.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteLike the skinny pant legs that hug her shapely legs and taper down towards her ankles, drawing the eye to those Fabulous Red Shoes!
ReplyDeleteThis is the comment I want to support, yes slightly skinny pants are ok for her, and can be considered as elegant, YES. I would like to kill the idea that only the traditional pants are elegant, NO far away from that.
DeleteShoes ok however not enough to make the whole attractive. The red color for the jacket is a good choice, but yes too short and too tight. I don't think the scarf is a good idea with this outfit.
The key for her is patience to wait until she has recovered her figure or at least most of it. We like you, Stephanie!
Like the scarf, the colour of the jacket and the red shoes. The trousers are an improvement on the baggy ones she used to favour but agree that if the jacket was bigger both in width and in length it would have made this into a winning outfit. As always, her smile is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteImo this would be a completely stellar outfit if only the pants were cut wider, creating a straight line down from Stephanie's hips rather than clinging. (And if cut wider they would need to be longer, to just graze the tops of those gorgeous shoes 🙂). The deep coral jacket and pretty coordinating scarf are very elegant.
ReplyDeleteTheir smiles are their best accessory. I like Stephanie's red flats and the color of her jacket. The fit of the jacket is off. I wish someone would help her with her eyebrows. They start too far in over her eyes making her eyes look further apart than they are and could be filled in with an eyebrow pencil.
ReplyDeleteE.B.B.
The colours Stephanie is wearing are lovely. The trouser length is good and the shoes look comfy and elegant, in a great colour. The jacket style is awful for her, as is the style of her pants. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteInteresting some of the comments about the trousers. Stephanie doesn't seem to have found her perfect style yet. She tried wide legged and was criticised and the skinny doesn't totally work either in my opinion. Maybe a sort of boot style would work and give some sort of balance?

ReplyDeleteWord "appropriate" may not be the best choice. But for my excuse - English is not my native language. I wanted to say that her clothes don't fit at all, her jacket isn't a good size.
Stephanie has many options to improve her outfit, but she doesn't use them. It's her choice, but in that case she probably shouldn't be on a fashion blog. I think that criticism and openness in expression are not a bad thing, and criticism cannot be considered hate speech. Unfortunately, in Western Europe, "political correctness" has reached absurd proportions. I will say my sincere opinion on fashion and I am immediately accused from insensitivity or sexism or racism.
Dear discussants, let's try to discuss the arguments. So, does Princess Stephanie's jacket fit or not?
Do those black pants suit her body type or not? My opinion is - no.
Someone (maybe Coco Chanel- I'm not sure) said: There are no ugly women, there are only good dressed and badly dressed women. In my opinion, Stephanie is a nice and kind person who is not well dressed. I stand behind it.
PS: Can you imagine a duchess Kate or princess Mary or countess Wessex sitting with outstretched thighs like her? (picture 5)
Anonymous 1:40, you are absolutely right!
DeletePolitical correctness is out of control everywhere. If you try hard enough, you can find offense with almost anything a person says. I wouldn't worry about it. I understood what you were trying to say.
DeleteYou are correct in saying that Stephanie is a badly dressed woman. She does not put much time or energy into her wardrobe, nor does she care. Some of her clothes look like they are of poor quality. There is really no excuse for that. She is representing her country and she needs to look like she is putting in some effort. The secret to dressing is to emphasize the best parts of the body and camouflage the parts of the body that are not the best features. These pants, for example, accentuate the fact that she has bigger hips right now. If she was wearing a wider legged pant, it would not be so obvious. If she wants to wear a slim legged pant, she needs to wear a longer top or jacket to disguise her hips. She leaves no mystery here. When everything is tight, we know the exact shape of her body. She dresses in a way that emphasizes what women would usually want to hide. It does not cost any more money to dress for the body you have. She does need guidance to do that because she doesn't know how on her own. On a fashion blog, there is nothing wrong with pointing these things out. You are not criticizing Stephanie as a person, just her fashion sense.
As for ANY other royal sitting the way she is, it would be unacceptable. Not sure why she is getting a pass. I guess it depends on who we are talking about.
Princess Stephanie is looking beautiful. I do not think, that people have to dress overweight, bigger sizes, sometimes they make them huge. She is emphasizing her outside qualities and there is much more than perfect legs. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteGo Stephanie.

ReplyDelete...sitting like her.....
Yes I can remember Duchess Kate sitting with outstreched legs wearing very short shorts on sailing ship (last year)...it was a race....and the papers wrote about her trim legs......
I guess you are trimming and sporting a lot and you want to see that these things are honoured. I can understand that, because it needs a lot of dicipline and a lot more. I applaued for your opinion and pointing out important focus on fashion and knowing who we are and how we look.
Sorry, stylewise very ordinary looking Stephanie
