Prince Charles, who is second in line to the throne and firstborn child of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and his wife, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, was born on May 10, 2020. From their home of Fischbach Castle, the Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess gave an interview to 'De Magazin' of RTL television.
In the interview, they talked about parenthood, the time before Prince Charles was born and their plans for the future. The hereditary Grand Ducal couple received the RTL team at their home in Fischbach. The baby prince was beside the couple during the interview done by RTL journalist Deborah Ceccacci. The couple told Ceccacci how they were enjoying daily life with their son, with Stéphanie adding that their days were never boring with a baby.
Ceccacci inquired as to the history behind the baby prince's name: Charles Jean-Philippe Joseph Marie-Guillaume. He was named for his great-great uncle and for his great-great grandmother Grand Duchess Charlotte. The future Grand Duke's other names honour Grand Duke Jean, who passed away last year, and his grandfather Philippe, and Joseph for his great-grandfather. Finally, Marie-Guillaume is a family name.
While the couple acknowledged that their first few months as new parents had not been easy, particularly on the sleep front, they both agreed Prince Charles was a sweet and affable baby who liked to laugh. They discussed the values they would like to impart on their son as he grows older, with Guillaume highlighting aspects of his own childhood and the way he was raised, which he would like to pass down to the next generation of the throne. However, he added he was happy to spend the most of time with his son before considering his next role as future Grand Duke.
As for the future, the couple said that they want to grow their family, but currently said they were dedicated to enjoying life with little Prince Charles.
That 2 across the pond could learn a thing or 2 from this beautiful family
ReplyDeleteIt is very different to be the heir or the spare!
DeleteThis is a fashion blog remember!
DeleteTrue that. Unfortunately they thrive on drama.
DeleteThe little boy so adorable...beautiful family.
As this seems to be a reference to the Sussexes: They are not in direct line of succession to the throne. This couple, however, is, as is their son Prince Charles. Naturally, the Luxembourgeois people would like to know about them and the baby because Guillaume and Charles will be Granddukes to the country one day. Harry, Meghan an Archie can keep their privacy, should they desire it, because they will not play a key-role in the future of the British Monarchy. Very simple and not to be compared.

DeleteThank you DSC.

DeleteWhy don't you have the courage to name names.
A pretty awful comment in my opinion.
Yes, a truly awful comment, and most unnecessary. Why are there people always looking for any opportunity to strike? These are the comments that should not be posted.
DeleteHow beautiful, lively, joyous and attentive this baby boy is!
ReplyDeleteGod bless all of them!
I agree!
DeleteCompletely agree. I also think that teal/green color looks lovely on Stephanie.

Adorable, il paraît très éveillé pour un bébé de 5 mois ; j'adore sa petite frimousse aux yeux rieurs !
ReplyDeleteLittle Charles is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful....i love this family.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, smiley baby, precious.
ReplyDeleteYes very joyful baby, and happy parents.
ReplyDeleteBaby Charles is the happiest infant I have ever seen...too adorable for words! I am relieved that Gui and Stephanie have verified that they want more children, otherwise that delicious little boy might become spoiled!
ReplyDeleteWho is Gui? Are you close friends?
DeleteLittle precious Charles is adorable! I know, all babies are, indeed, but he is particularly alert and responsive to the world around him for his age, sitting up with very little help already, impressive. I see a lot of MT in him, not so much resemblance with his parents. It must be true then that babies who are much awaited and longed for and born to parents in love with each-other are gorgeous :-) As it should be, really :-) Very happy for them. - AnnieM
ReplyDeleteI think he strongly resembles Stephanie!
DeleteLovely family, and willing to share in the right way! Wish them all the best!
ReplyDeleteI must admit I am besotted with little chubby Charles!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family. With Stephanie and Guillaume that old saying that I often heard from my late grandma is so true: that when someone is very happy, they also look beautiful. Ever since announcing the pregnancy and especially since the birth of their precious baby, these two are literally blossoming. And whatever Stephanie wears, no matter how her hair and makeup are done, she is just shining! And I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true!!
DeleteCan Stephanie and Guillaume please carry Charles to all the appropriate events where they can? Most of their outings aren't very attention-grabbing, this bebe can definitely get all the attention he wants.
ReplyDeleteEin herziger Wonneproppen , der kleine Charles !!
ReplyDeleteStimmt!
Delete@JC, your obsession with the Sussexes borders on ridiculous. They seem to live rent free in your head. Incongruent comparison and a rather insubstantial argument.
ReplyDeletePlease move on, you aren’t doing yourself any favors .
Nothing about fashion here that is remarkable, just a lovely family scene.
Wishing them continuous happiness
Every picture i see of baby Charles, he gets cuter and cuter. Plus. Stephanie looks amazing. Looks like a happy family, so wonderful to see.

From Joann: Lovely family. It does the heart good to see some happy news when there is so much suffering in the world. The baby looks like a happy baby with a pleasing disposition. I know of some babies that are cranky a lot !
ReplyDeleteI love the way he laughs.
Wow, the amount of hate in some people’s hearts. Doesn’t do you any good, should really get on with a decent life of your own, forget about spitting hate whenever you can. Will do you a lot of good.
ReplyDeleteStephanie and Guillome look so happy, I imagine they were under a lot of pressure to have children and it seems it wasn’t the easiest thing for them.
Yes, Stephanie has gained weight, most women do when they are pregnant, but she looks absolutely radiant and very well groomed (here’s to hoping she’ll keep it up!). I always thought they are kind, warm people and these pictures warmed my heart.

@JC, your comment confirms my theory that hating on people eats your brain cells.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that you are one of the vociferous commenters that get really upset when Helen publishes anything about the Sussexes and whines about why oh why are they on this blog.... but somehow you would want them to post pictures of Archie , just because you want to get the chance to malign them??
Good Lord, get a life, live your life, and stop the ugliness.
Sandra
Well said Sandra. Thanks for spelling it out.
DeleteHowever, I have to give @JC at least one point out of one hundred for the title she/he uses
"those two across the pond".
Hope "those two" find some ducks in the pond for little Archie to play with.
