On October 8, 2020, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visited the exhibition "Giacometti – Face to Face" at The Museum of Modern Art (Moderna Museet) in Stockholm. "Giacometti – Face to Face" is the first large-scale retrospective of Alberto Giacometti’s work in Sweden in over twenty years. Alberto Giacometti (1901 - 1966) was a Swiss sculptor, painter, draftsman and printmaker.
Beginning in 1922, he lived and worked mainly in Paris. He was one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century. The exhibition trails the evolution of Giacometti’s work from post-cubism through surrealism to post-war realism. The exhibition was produced in close collaboration with Fondation Giacometti, Paris.

Not quite sure about Victoria's blouse. Maybe adding shoulder pads would have given the top part a bit of a lift. Lovely woman, handsome husband, no doubt about that. They are doing a good job in representing their country. Love the little tendrils of hair at the nape of her neck.
ReplyDeleteAlways the same hairstyle, and the top is not pretty....Sorry...
ReplyDeleteShe wears black very well, and I love the earrings. They have an interesting industrial look to them. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteAgreed. The outfit has a look of subtle elegance about it.
DeleteThe earrings are quite "arty" and fit the occasion.
NOTE: Prince Daniel's double breasted black suit must still be at the cleaners. He'd better be careful as after three months the cleaner can sell it off to recover the unpaid cost of the cleaning.
Again, no, no, no. Depressingly dark, making her look very wide and combining shiny with non-shiny fabrics.
ReplyDeletewhat is the problem with combining different types of fabric, I've seen lots of people do it, it looks great. I like her outfit, for the most part, she is not being overly dramatic, just expressing her own style.
DeleteNot my favourite look. I'll agree that Victoria suits black but I don't like the voluminous top
ReplyDeleteThis shapeless black top is drowning CP Victoria. She could look so glamorous if she only tried, starting with the hair. This outfit I would save for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteCan't agree more.
DeleteFully agree!
DeleteNot her best look to me. Agree with others about the awkward shape of the top, on the fence about the pants. Like her make-up.

A possible way to save this would be to pair the top with a pencil skirt, one that fit her, not a loose one. She can wear black. She has the coloring for it. Until she changes her hair, almost everything she wears is going to be effected. This hair is too conservative. Respectfully, I disagree with Anon 12:00. I don't consider those tendrils of hair. While I agree that tendrils of baby hair would be sweet at times, Victoria has a hairy neck. The hair grows out further to the sides than is typical and does not look neat. If it was shaved, waxed, or if she had electrolysis, it would look so much neater and feminine. It would not matter if she wore her hair down, but she always has it up, so the back of her neck should be part of her beauty or hair care routine.
ReplyDeleteI think her outfit is cool, it has a modern touch and suits the occasion.
ReplyDeleteI’m not a fan of her usual hairstyle though..

Very good link. Great photos. Thanks a lot Anonymous10/9/20, 11:37 PM
DeleteThanks for posting this link. I like the purse she chose. That was a great choice. Seeing the new pictures posted, I wish she had worn the blouse as pictured, without altering the sleeves. In the link, we also get a very close view of her pants. The belt loops make the pants look more casual. I think pleated pants are the wrong choice. A flat front pant wound have looked better.
DeleteThere's a formality to the poufy sleeves, the monochrome black and the statement earrings that suggests moving on to a fancier event after the museum visit -- but perhaps this was a particularly prestigious opening. I don't think the shape of the trousers does much for Victoria or successfully balances the generous sleeves.
ReplyDeleteBlack color suits CP Victoria well . I really love her eye make up .
ReplyDeleteThe sleeves of the blouse are gathered at the bottom, not sleek as shown on the model which, I think, would have been a better look for Victoria.
ReplyDeleteChic in black. Yes, sleeves are big, but I like this look on her.
