On October 21, 2020, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the new Little Belt Bridge. On October 21, 1970, Den Nye Lillebæltsbro was opened by Danish King Frederik IX. The bridge connects Jutland and Funen. The architect behind the New Little Belt bridge as well as the Vejlefjord bridge, is Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen.
UNIQLO Blocktech Checked Coat
Mary always looks really good with this type of woolen cap. Very stylish, although she's worn the same type for years. The coat is a bit blah, it would be better without the pattern. But it's appropriate and practical in this kind of weather.
ReplyDeleteI also like the style of the lady on the left in the last picture.
I’m pretty sure that last lady is Mary’s personal assistant (I don’t remember offhand her official title). I agree - I like what she is wearing too. Mary seems as stylish as she could be in what appears to be a cold, damp situation. It must be pretty uncomfortable weather- she has a thick down liner under that trench coat. I’d love to look as good as Mary in those conditions.
ReplyDeleteI love that her knit cap matches her sweater. I do like the checked pattern on her coat, just a little visual interest rather than just something plain.
ReplyDeleteCh
Very active and involved. Makes me wonder if her husband sort of handed over most engagement responsibility to her? Anyone care to comment?
ReplyDeleteI like her style most of the time.
No, I know that in Danish Monarchy there are periods of ' regency'.
DeletePrice Joachim was appointed 'regent' in the past as well, even when the Queen was not abroad.
There is the official Danish Monarchy site where you can find Royal people' s engagements in a chronological order.
Frederick is probably involved with regency or other non public activities on behalf of the Crown.
Anon 8:34 AM, this has been bothering me for years now. What does Frederick actually do? Why does she go alone on so many appointments? I take my hat off for her. Having children, husband, and being queen [queen Margrethe signed the form, where she can stand in for the queen].
DeleteNice coat over down underjacket.
ReplyDeleteWell dressed for the outing at the sea.
Bad weather - but Marys smile is like sunshine!
ReplyDeleteLike her Mackintosh coat. Could it be a Danish version of an English Burberry?
ReplyDeleteA bright coloured scarf would have gone down well here.
However, looks like the weather dictated the fashion for the day, that is, something warm and snug.
Yes, Anonymous 10/22/20, 12:47 AM, the blond lady on the left in the photo looks very smart.
It is now the 8th photo.
One of favorite princesses!
ReplyDeleteI just passed under the Great Belt ( beautifully lit) on a cruise ship at night and the sight was simply breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteI would like to see the new Little Belt too.
Mary' s outfit is perfect for this kind of engagement outdoors.
Grey is a trendy F/W colour as well.
Cold can be really unbearable on the North Sea at this time of the year and is likely to be even worse onwards.
Marys style is very nice and I also like the style of the woman who is approx. the assistant of the crown princess.
ReplyDeleteBut to be honest, I'm more interested in that handsome blonde guy at most of the pictures (who is also holding the umbrella) :-)) xD ;-)
Ha ha ha, Anna!
DeleteMe too Anna B
DeleteWho is this handsome blond guy who is often in the photos with Princess Mary. Are we going to have a nice scandal that will keep us busy banging away on our keyboards? It'll give me a bit of a break from my soap operas.
