On September 18, 2020, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spainattended the opening of the 2020-2021 season of Teatro Real (The Royal Theatre), which is the 24th season. The Teatro Real opened the 2020/2021 season with "Un ballo in Maschera" by Giuseppe Verdi. Un ballo in maschera (A Masked Ball) is an 1859 opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi.
The piece is based on the assassination of King Gustav III of Sweden, who was shot during a masked ball in 1792, dying 13 days later from his wounds. Verdi composed the opera in the late 1850's. Un ballo in maschera will be offered in a production coming from the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and replicated in collaboration with the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville. Queen Letizia wore a red lace dress from Carolina Herrera.

Aaaah. made my night. beautiful red dress, (and like the red dress worn by the other lady too)beautiful red shoes. What more is there to say?
ReplyDeleteAnything AnnieM.
DeleteIt's a pleasure to see Letizia... and Felipe of course !
Impeccable. Letizia's choice of dresses over the past couple of days has been superb. The blue one and this are beautifully designed and fit like a glove.
ReplyDeleteYes! What a joy to watch!
DeleteAgree!
DeleteBeautiful dress, love the lace. Red is certainly her color. (On a side note, her arms are works of art, sculptures of their own :) )
ReplyDeleteThe gold clutch is a nice compliment.

This is a beautiful dress and a great re wear. The red colour suits the Queen perfectly. I love the lace inserts, it adds interest to the dress. The sling back shoes are gorgeous, little gold clutch, perfect finishing touch
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove that Letizia wore this dress again. Great shoes and bag. Letizia, in general, wears clothes well but there is something about Carolina Herrera designs that seem to suit her to a t.

Completely agree, great designer to wearer match! She looks amazing, head to toe perfect:)!

Agree. Everything by CH that she owns fits perfectly. The pieces are tailored to her proportions and the quality is unmistakable. Great information about the origins of this opera and about Verdi himself. MB
DeleteGorgeous red dress. She looks smashing.
ReplyDeleteBut the masks need to go.
Cuando la ley lo permita, no antes.
DeleteSpain has had over250,000 new coronavirus cases in the past month. Wearing the mask is the ONLY responsible, educated, unselfish decision if going out.

Vanessa, your unsolicited and dangerous medical advice need to go.
DeleteFully agree with Lady M and Augie!
DeleteWorth a look just for those arms. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteYeah, she has toned arms but I wouldn't say that having not well shaped muscles is necessarily a setback for a lady. In the case with this dress, I'd prefer the tender arms of the model. The toned arms of Letizia are better suited for modestly tight t-shirt and straight-leg jeans, would be a super-sexy look.
Meh.
DeleteBoth look excellent.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm speachless.
ReplyDeleteHave to go and work with my arms 😁

ReplyDeleteSuper dress. Right colour, knee length ( so much nicer than all those long grandmother flower print dresses). The queen of Spain always looks superb
