Today, Queen Margerthe opened the Trundholm Sun Chariot (Solvognens Fundsted) in Geopark Odsherred. Geopark Odsherred is Denmark's first and only UNESCO-certified geopark. The park's special task is to preserve the area's special landscape. The Trundholm sun chariot (Danish: Solvognen), is a Nordic Bronze Age artifact discovered in Denmark.
One of the world's most important Bronze Age finds was found in Trundholm Mose in 1902. The bronze figure, which depicts a six-wheeled chariot with a horse and a gold-plated sun disk, is today a national treasure that can be experienced at the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen. The sun chariot was made in the older Bronze Age around 1400 BC.
Queen Margrethe looks lovely. Her coat goes well with her hat, glove, shoes, and, from what we can see, her dress. But, her radiant smile is always her greatest accessory. It is good to see her out and about.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have said it better Debra, she looks beautiful!

Agree with you Debra.
ReplyDeleteWow,what a coat!
ReplyDeleteOdd that the other day Victoria wore a plaid and was castigated for doing so. Today the Queen wears plaid and people love it. I liked the 2nd plaid outfit Victoria wore, and said so, even though plaid is not my cup of tea, she looked great in the coral outfit. I like the Queen's outfit, no reason needed.
ReplyDeleteYou are comparing apples to oranges.
DeleteNo, not apples to oranges, plaid to plaid in clothing. Doesnt matter if its a coat, jacket, pants, blouse, its a plaid fabric. :)
DeleteI do like Queen Margarethe but don’t like this coat at all ( hadn’t thought to compare it with the awful outfit worn by Crown Princess Victoria earlier in the week until I read Anon 12:45’s comments but didn’t like that either). In the photo where she is receiving the flower’s it is particularly unflattering. She definitely has better coats.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks fabulous in this outfit, very smart and elegant.
ReplyDeleteI get the impression that the Queen's coat is a type of waterproof outdoors coat or raincoat. It appears to be raining or a light drizzle and she needs protection.
ReplyDeleteWhatever type of coat it is, it's bright and gay against the dull background and the Queen wears it well.
Looking at the coat again, it has a Burberry Vintage Raincoat style about it. Or a Burberry trench coat.
DeleteJoli manteau qui ressemble beaucoup à un imperméable ?! J'aime bien son nouveau modèle de chapeau bien combiné avec ses gants et ses chaussures !

Two words "The Queen"
ReplyDeleteThe coat does nothing for her.
ReplyDeleteOh yes it does, it keeps the rain off her :-))
