On September 7, 2020, Princess Sofia met with the jurors formed to select 2020 Swedish Heroes. Princess Sofia of Sweden has joined the jury for the Swedish Heroes this year. Other people in the jury are Archbishop Antje Ackelén, Supreme Commander Micael Bydén, Kodjo Akolor, Kristin Kaspersen, Shima Niavarani, Marika Carlsson and Margaux Dietz.
Swedish Heroes (Svenska Hjältar) is an award ceremony broadcast by TV4 and co-produced with Aftonbladet. Every year, the magazine writes about hundreds of everyday heroes who have shown proof of courage, civil courage and compassion. Of these, a jury selects seven heroes in different categories and these heroes are given awards at the Swedish Heroes Gala at Cirkus in Stockholm.
As a Swede I sincerely hope our world-wide known Greta Thunberg get rewarded somewhere!
ReplyDeleteBut also knowing Swedish mentality she will probably not.. Swedes only love mediocer people and not real stars... :-(
From Joann - This sounds like a worthy organization. We should always hear more about the heroes, than all the bad news. And I like Sofia's dress. It's whimsical and stylish.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid I don't like the dress.
ReplyDeleteI get the impressionan that Sofia is sad.
ReplyDeleteShe isn' t smailing as usual.
Wonder why.
Princess Sofia is very sad.
DeleteIt's not the first time...

She looks good to me....why should she be smiling all the time? I like her, she is doing very well as a princess. She's taking her job seriously, is really interested in people and hard working. In the first picture she is standing in the background, making the people who this is all about, more important than herself. You hardly ever see Royals taking place in the backrows. This and many other things make her very likeable.

Her good work isn' t being questioned.
DeleteI wouldn' t consider her smiling as something which can overshadow the importance of these heroes.
She was probably asked to pose on top behind he others by the photographer.
IMO
Elenor, it’s not about her smile it’s about her eyes. There is a sadness in her eyes even when she smiles that’s obvious to many of us.
DeleteI don't think she looks sad at all.
DeleteUgly dress.

DeleteYes, not a good choice.
Un joli modèle mais pas pour une jeune femme comme Sofia. Je l'aurais vue dans des teintes plus claires et surtout avec une autre ceinture dont la boucle ne l'avantage pas du tout !

ReplyDeleteAlthough the print is flattering enough, I think the dress might be too big for her and possibly too long. We can’t really see the true length here but she looks swamped in all of this fabric. I’d also replace the self belt with a nice leather one.
ReplyDeleteAgree about the fabric overwhelming her but not really a fan of the print either--it's too busy somehow.
DeleteWhat a marvellous organisation, people who do good deeds should be recognised. Pss Sofia looks great, a simple dress with a splash of colour, she looks stylish and elegant.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Princess Sofia. It must be very honorable to be selected 2020 Swedish Heroes.

ReplyDeleteTotally agree.
There' s s sadness in her eyes
I don't think she looks sad at all. Just because you don't smile and show teeth doesn't mean you are sad. Her pretty blue eyes look fine to me. Plus we don't ever see that many pics from an engagement. It is never enough to reflect the whole visit. I think she is a young mother who has a lot of things going on. I can actually see her being tired before sad. Ha ha! Her charity work with the hospital, project playground, raising her two boys, the foundation she shares with her husband, and the engagements she fulfills at the request of the King keep her pretty busy I am sure. Carl Philip has his racing and design business as well as the foundation with Sofia.
