Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco held a dinner at the Prince's Palace
Prince Albert and Princess Charlene held a dinner at the Prince’s Palace for the two teams that have taken part in the Crossing Calvi Monaco Water Bike Challenge. Princess Charlene wore a printed silk chiffon jumpsuit designed by Terrence Bray (South African fashion designer) which she had also worn last year at the civil wedding of Louis Ducruet. The team Serenity led by Princess Charlene won this edition of the Water Bike Challenge.
Prince Albert, Princess Charlene and their children Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella attended a reception hosted by Calvi Mayor Ange Santini on September 11, a day before the Calvi to Monaco Waterbike Challenge.
I give beautiful Princess Charlene credit for being able to do the nearly impossible: wear short bangs without looking awful. However, I think the simple, elegant side-swept style in the second photo suits her much better. While the silk dress is referred to as a jumpsuit, at first glance I thought it had a semi-sheer skirt that allowed Charlene's legs to show through. On closer examination, it could be a jumpsuit beneath a sheer outer dress?? (As with many of Charlene's fashion choices, one is left to wonder why). The dress worn at the Sept. 11th engagement is elegant but, particularly worn with high heels, seems more appropriate for evening than for day.
ReplyDeleteAnd while I'm all for a spirited dose of patriotism on such occasions, I think Prince Albert's pants and shoes in bright Monegasque white and red take things just a bit too far 😂.
I agree inteirely with you...
DeleteBeautiful family Charlene very smiling.
ReplyDeletei like the black dress
The online donations and the sponsorships raised a total of 603,912 €. Well done !
Charlene looks lovely in the long black dress.
ReplyDeleteJudy.
In my view this shapeless black dress is not flattering at all for Charlene. At first sight I didn't like the silk dress on pic1, but after all it is not bad at all. She is lovely on pic2. But what a bad idea to have cut Louis Ducruet's wife from pic2!! She really did not deserve that. Quite pleased to see the whole family gathered.
DeleteAgree, love that one as well.
DeleteMonze
Why she never show her long legs?
ReplyDeleteSo, the 2nd photo is from the wedding last year? Otherwise the presence of Mr. Ducruet (Louis's father) cannot be explained.
ReplyDeleteMargot
That's what it says in the captions.
ReplyDeleteCharlene looks very elegant and sophisticated in the black dress, with her hair and smile... Beautiful! As well standing near the desk with Albert & their kids. So very lovely.
ReplyDeleteBut: This family- picture with Caroline, Stephanie is really disappointing in my humble opinion, fashion-wise and with the lack of giving the world some friendly faces. (And I do have some other comments, but I leave it to this, ha ha...).
rainha leonor - I wonder if you're thinking the same thing about Stephanie that I am.
DeleteThere is no point re-critiquing a photo that is more than a year old.
DeleteTrue...
DeleteShame ...both sisters were so beautifull and grew to be sour and unhappy. Even poor Charlene looses her smile and peacefull face...
Everybody trying to be in front.. the Ducruet father just to happy to be in a place that he lost..
Stephanie holding her son in such a ugly way and so angry.
Shame ..money buys no happiness...
Only buys things to make life easier..
Utter nonsense - it isn't a picture jumping for joy but anyone following this family knows that Caroline and Stephanie are neither sour nor unhappy.
DeleteI don't understand what you mean by holding her son in an ugly way...
Who mentioned money and what has it got to do with anything?
As for Charlene last year wasn't her best year in terms of smiling - her expression I this photo is no different than it was on other occasions last year. Fortunately this year she seems in a better place.
But I honestly see little point in critiquing a photo from over a year ago.
Merci, me voilà rassurée!
DeleteLove the black dress, the other one/jumpsuit not really.
Votre commentaire n'a aucun sens.
She has done so very well, congratulations to her. She looks happy and smiling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning look for Charlene in the black dress/jumpsuit! She looks so happy, and I love Albert for being so supportive of her. You don't always see royal men showing such outward support to their wives. The red sneakers in the first photo are, again, his way of showing support to Charlene and her team. Just fantastic! This is not a formal dinner and he can absolutely slip those sneakers on and look great. He probably looks pretty cool, especially for an older dad, to Jacques and Gabriella. I think they are setting a great example for their children. It will be interesting to see if they follow their parent's example once they are adults.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeletePitty that as a family they seem so unhappy and only Albert knows how to smile for the photo.
ReplyDeleteHe must be the real King ... as he puts feelings way and does what as to be done :
A family photo showing happiness for the sake of the marrying couple... all the others show they cant stand the next person..
Albert is the Sovereign Prince not a king.
DeleteThere are plenty of photos from the day showing the family smiling and enjoying each other's company. One bad photo isn't enough to decide they all hate each other.
ok pictures have been changed overnight : there is indeed a pic taken earlier (?); the idea was probably to show that Charlene's dress is a re-wear. Or to show that her air-style a year ago was much better than current one, a desaster...
ReplyDeleteCharlene looks stunning in the clothes she is wearing. But then she always looks very beautiful whatever she wears.
ReplyDeleteI don't think most people realize what Charlene went through in that race. I'm a biker and I know pedaling for that length of time on water (or on asphalt) is extreme. She is a competitive pro athlete and is accustomed to pain but this pain was over a long length of time. She never stopped pedaling to rest her muscles and catch her breath for even a moment like I do when I ride. Everyone needs to applaud her and the others in the race. She put out a lot to encourage a healthy lifestyle. I hope people are listening
