Danish Crown Princess Mary took part as a patron in the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe (RC70), which is being held virtually on September 14 and 15, 2020 due to COVID-19. At the meeting, health ministers and senior representatives of the 53 member states of the WHO European Region, as well as partner organizations and civil society, are discussing various health issues. The Crown Princess gave a speech at the online meeting which is the Region’s annual decision-making meeting.
Since she became Patron of WHO/Europe in 2005, Danish Crown Princess Mary has supported WHO’s work in a number of areas, most notably maternal, child and adolescent health, and health promotion and disease prevention through immunization and work to address antimicrobial resistance.

Charming lady. But ... nobody should wear brown. Ever. Most depressing color (for women's clothing) that exists. Of course, only my humble opinion ... (-Ann.)
ReplyDeleteI disagree. There are a lot of shades of brown (nougat, chocolate, camel) that can look really elegant and feminine.
DeleteMaybe a glorious redhead could get away with that colour I don't like the colour that much either
DeleteI fully agree with Coralie.
DeleteI agree with Coralie!
DeleteJe trouve qu'en portant son haut dans une couleur camel-clair, elle aurait été ravissante avec son pantalon noir ; magnifiques escarpins dont j'adore le style !
ReplyDeleteI really like this looks! She looks very nice on the photo were we could see all the look, however I would prefer to see some close photos, but the blouse seems to be perfect on her, like it was made on her body, it's not my preferred colour but she looks very nice on her.
ReplyDeleteThe trousers have the right lent and belt and shoes are great complements.
Overall, for me she really looks elegant, formal in a business outfit.
In the last picture, the blouse looks more like a bronze colour and much improved for that. In the earlier photos, it's just drab. Like the shoes, like the trousers (are they navy or black?) but not sure of the colour combo
ReplyDeleteVery original and good outfit from Mary!
ReplyDeleteFor the occasion, perfect choice ...... 10/10
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts too!
DeleteThe color is not suited for 90% of the population, including Mary.
ReplyDelete???
DeleteThe blouse is not brown , but the so called and so trendy cognac colour.
ReplyDeleteShe looks faboulous.
Each piece is accurately coordinated with the others and the shoes are to die for.
Perfection again.
Her hair are impeccably styled.
A regal vision.
There always is something smug about her, that I do not find appealing..... she radiates that she is very pleased with herself....
ReplyDeleteLily T.
Personally , I would say the same about Letizia.
DeleteShe is always elegant , but there is a sort of smug about her.
Yes, smug is the word that comes to my mind too. As far as style....I like the blouse color, but the pants make her look larger than she is and the belt is quite bad.
DeleteRenee
Amazing what people can see in photos. Smug has never come to mind about either one of them.
DeleteNo! For me she is confident and a very intelligent woman a great asset for Denmark. I love her clothes.
DeletePrincess Mary ......... SMUG ........ you have to be joking.
DeleteGo get your glasses tested.
@Deadeggs: Calm down.... and my eyes are very well, thank you.
DeleteLily T.
Unknown 11:44 to say Crown Princess Mary is smug is a insult and to compare her to Queen Letizia is even worse. Letizia always has a studied look and appears to always be posing. Crown Princess Mary who is elegant, beautiful and very confident and is always at ease with herself and very natural. I once read that many thought that Prince Rainier married up when he wed grace Kelly and although I really like Crown Prince Frederick I feel that he married up when he wed Mary. She has a degree both in law and business and is the star of Denmark and will be even more so when she becomes Queen. It has always been said that Frederick never wanted to be King until he wed Mary. It will be Mary and not Frederick who will be the face of Denmark as King and Queen!!!
Delete@Anon 12:17...... Calm down..... really, to get this upset about AN OPINION......
DeleteLily T.
O.K. Lily T. I'll calm down.
DeleteBit late in taking my medication today. Wasting too much time on watching soap operas.
Good news about your eyes.
Good Morning Lily T. Smile, If you read my comment I was not commenting on your usual negative remarks. Maybe you should take advantage of one of those optical shops that offer 2 pairs of eyeglasses for the price of 1.....No, actually I just LOVE to toot Crown Princess Mary's horn.....She is the bomb.....She rocks!!!
DeleteI agree with you Lily T. I also have thought she has a condescending way about her.
DeleteLady M
@ Lily T. & 11:44 Brown is often a difficult color to wear successfully. Off white or beige pants would have done the trick and still matched the shoes. Fashion should not include reading facial expressions. Why would she be smug at such an event? Embarrassing, this unsheathing of claws for no reason and throwing other women into the mix who are not visible in the picture. A more adult level of thinking please. AB
DeleteOh my. I'm late to this party and I'm having quite the chuckle..at the suppositions and the responses..and especially the indignant retorts, lol! First of all..I think Mary's outfit is smart and appropriate to the event. It's business like, especially the colour which lends itself perfectly to the seriousness of the meeting.
DeleteAnd as for the other issue, I have to say that 'smug' has never entered the vocabulary I would ever use for this smart lady. Poised and confident, yes. Bold and straightforward, definitely. But smug? Um, no. Jeepers! lol.

I truly love the brown/bronze combination, I know that it was taboo back in the day as well as many others like pink/red, pink/orange, dark blue/ black etc., but if worn well it can be beautiful. The blouse is delicate with a 70’s vibe and it fits her like a glove. The belt helps elevate the outfit. She looks elegant and poised.
ReplyDeleteThe blouse isn't my favourite colour but I like the overall look. I like the softer flow of the top contrasted with the sharper tailoring of the trousers. Love the shoes.
ReplyDeleteFabulous trousers, awful blouse (and it´s not just the colour).
ReplyDeleteMy problem with her outfit is not the color of the blouse, it’s the fit. It appears too tight across the shoulders and it looks like it is pulling across the top button. Her makeup looks phenomenal, however.
DeleteThe silhouette of the blouse is beautiful and is a great choice for an online meeting. The color is probably not the best on her, but is a solid color and has interest in the sleeves. I think the belt makes this outfit look more casual and cuts her in half instead of giving her a longer, taller line. I like her hair and makeup.
ReplyDeleteMy comment -Unknown 9.06 p.m.
ReplyDelete* fabulous
* Her hair is...
The full length view is not good, belt cuts the middle, the shoes are a detraction from a long lean look, and the blouse is not pretty. Not a typical day when Mary makes a wrong step.
ReplyDeleteI think is not the brownish color but the wrong style of the blouse.
ReplyDeleteFabulous outfit. Love the colours, suit the CP perfectly. The blouse particularly looks lovely. Those shoes are gorgeous.
ReplyDelete@ Renee... the word is not snug is self confident.
ReplyDeleteLarger than she she is? The last word in the dictionary to define this woman would be that she looks larger.......
MM
Exactly.
DeleteI'm getting confused. Are you talking about sNug or sMug?
DeleteTwo different words. I have made my comment based on the word smug.
I don't like the style of the blouse and the colour combination with black trousers doesn't completely convince me. What I really dislike is her hairstyle, it looks slightly artificial and "overdone".
ReplyDelete@ Anon.12.17 p.m
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I agree with you about Letizia who looks studied and posing all the time( she still remains one of the most elegant royal ladies anyway).
No comparisons can be made with Mary, actually.
Mary always shines like a star, she has a sort of inner allure or light which radiates from inside, irrispective of the clothes she is wearing.
Yes, she is smart, well educated, self -confident and very professional.
The truth is I didn't want to say what you wrote about Letizia openly.
Haha, how come that it crossed my mind for just one second that Anon 12.17 and Unknown 2.30 are one and the same person.......
DeleteLily T.
it is interesting how much the view points on the same outfit can differ, each one of us has a different perception when it comes to aesthetic taste and that's absolutely fine. What struck me more than the outfit was the way in which she delivered the speech - some may call it smug, some self-confident. For me it was way too staged, way too rehearsed, like she was acting, I get that feeling a lot of time with her. The way she moved her hands was not natural as it was not in synchrony with what she was saying at each respective point in time, which for me means that she is far more alert to the visual impact she is projecting to the audience rather than to the content of her words. I may be wrong, but the average person would not make those hands gestures and so frequently while articulating those sentences in a relaxed state of mind - unless you do it in front of a mirror, trying to emulate a Oscar ceremony speech.... Duchess Catherine has a similar problem when speaking in public, she gestures with her hands way too much unnecessarily - a sign of nervousness in her case.... Well, my psychology session is over for today ;-) Interested to hear other commenters' views

Oscar winners are holding their Oscars. Not too much in the way of hand gestures. :)
DeleteSorry, I do not agree about gestures.
DeleteMary gave a speech online and I personally do not see such a considerable amount of hand gestures.
I immagine she has a camera in front of her , no people there.
She has to concentrate also on the audience she is addressing to, quite normal.
She can' t be motionless.
I cannot find differences between her and Victoria while addressing her audience in another post( sorry, I do not remember details, I mean when Victoria had her hair loose and received lots of compliments for her
hair style on this blog).
@Lily T.
ReplyDeleteAre you angry with everyone today?
I am not the Anonymous you said ( I do not talk to myself!) and you are not Agatha Christie.

I give my consent no problem for me.
If this can help you, I am Italian and my name is Maria.
I' ll sign my next comments with my real name.

@Maria....., Hello! Nice to hear from you..... I am not angry, not at all. Mary is one of the best dressed royals. That being said, in spite of her very good sartorial choices (or rather the choices of her stylist) there is something about her that I do not find appealing or attractive...... an air of over self confidence.....
DeleteAnd that is all I have to say about it. It is just an opinion, same as that of the ladies on this forum who think that she is fantastic.
Lily T.
Lily T. if Mary is over confident then you are over bearing and obnoxious, rude, mean spirited and the list keeps going on. You are the most negative person on this blog. If Mary is over confident you come off just the opposite, VERY insecure!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't agree with you about Lily; however, even if she had been you've definitely just inherited the title.
DeleteIf she's smug she has a right to be. How many people could make the transition she's made so flawlessly? I think she's amazing. Elle.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lily T..... and what a fuss about even the slighest hint of criticism.....
ReplyDeleteTigerlily
@ deadeggs... typo yes I meant SMUG, but thank you, you win the internet today but pointing out how somebody made a mistake. I can rest now.
