On August 16, 2020, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah opened the new Emergency Hospital affiliated with Al Bashir Public Hospital. There, they also visited the oncology ward that has been recently revamped by the voluntary Himmetna initiative.

I love Rania's shoes! Wrt the dress, it is challenging to discern its details -- the skirt is interesting, but for me the overall look is rather suffocatingly covered-up due to the long sleeves, very high collar, and coordinating black mask.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you Jane Chantal.
ReplyDeleteLove her shoes !

Crazy about the shoes.
DeleteRead up a bit on the history of the manufacturer and it states that it was created in 2014. The creator and founder is a woman call Mary Alice Malone. It appears that it is a British company with manufacturing done in Italy. Prices seem to be around €500 per pair.
For the dress of Queen Rania, it would be nice to have some information on the designer. I think it is a good choice for the event that they are attending.
It's interesting that the king and queen and many in their entourage are using face masks with valves. Per the CDC and the San Francisco Public Health Department these types of masks are not really effective in mitigating transmission as the vents "allow air to be exhaled through a hole in the material, which can result in expelled respiratory droplets that can reach others." I'm sure they are trying to do the best for their country, as evident from their visit to this hospital. I'm just surprised because been banned in San Francisco and on flights. Of course, different countries have different approaches to protecting their citizens.
ReplyDeleteOn a fashion note I don't think it outfit works. I agree that it is a very suffocating look. The satin/silk cargo culottes are reminiscent of the noughties. I was glad when we outgrew those styles so it's sad to see Queen Rania bring them back (lol). The shirt is fairly inoffensive. It could work if it was loosely tied and paired with a skirt in a lighter color or fabric. The shoes I don't really care for.
Anna, those masks with a valve typically have a piece of N95 filter behind them. The valves make breathing easier, and the filter catches the droplets. We have them in my country as well.

That makes sense! Thanks for informing me.
DeleteI love the blouse the Queen is wearing, but those shoes are divine, I love them.
