On August 15, 2020, Japan marked the 75th anniversary of WWII surrender. Japanese Emperor Naruhito, accompanied by Empress Masako, attended a memorial ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of Japan's surrender in World War II at Nippon Budokan hall in Tokyo.
About 540 people attended the ceremony because the government limited the number of people present to prevent coronavirus infection. Emperor Naruhito gave a speech in which he expressed hope that the tragedy would never be repeated. The prime minister, Shinzo Abe, gave thanks for the sacrifices of the Japanese war dead.
As always Empress Masako looks elegant and beautifully dressed. It is nice to see a longer length of skirt for a change.

DeleteI agree.
DeleteAlways perfectly tailored and elegant.
Elegence with simplicity.
DeleteBeautiful outfit, love the hat.
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed that his tie is always matched with her clothes?
ReplyDeleteLove the dove gray of her suit, and as always looks impeccable! I do wonder, why white gloves instead of black (as her other assessories are), or dove gray like her suit.
ReplyDeleteThe Empress looks very elegant and perfectly well groomed. This is a beautiful fitting outfit. I love the colour. The addition of the pearls are the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteShe is dressed like an old woman in the years 1950. At this moment old people are more modern;
