The queen looks wonderful in this dress--a big improvement over the model with the tatoos on her arms. Too biker babe for this delicate dress. Wonder why the brand (Uterque) ever thought that was a good promotional idea?

    1. A lot of people have tattoos now, and why not, if they like it. I for one love these feminine dresses and don't understand why a woman with a tattoo should not wear it.

What a great summer dress! Letizia looks great in it. I, also am glad that her arms do not have tattoos...it would ruin the look.

It's appropriate but she has tons of dresses that suit her better shapewize than this.

But those arms, wauw! She must do a lot of weight training.

    1. I agree actually, I don't really like wide dresses.

    2. I agree. I find the material is very beautiful but that cut or shape is not for Letitia. Perhaps that style only looks good on a much lees well endowed ladies.

Agree, very fresh, young and romantic and so summery.
What a cute couple they are.

  4. It is a lovely dress but for me it just doesn't suit Letizia. I cannot put my finger on the reason but perhaps it is too girly? I have adored Letizia's outfits throughout the summer and this is a very rare miss.

    1. I agree, Elizabeth--I can't quite say why I wouldn't rate this dress higher than okay. Reading Anna's comment below, I wonder if it's the shortened bodice that does it. It's nice and summery, but it's too billowy as if there's too much material in the skirt bit of it

    2. Dar AnnieM; Today in Menorca the temperature rose to 30º C (86º F) by 2 pm. with 85% humidity. The best one can do in that heath is to wear a white, billowy dress, to keep hydrated, and wait for mid september to arrive.

I hope my comment is not interpreted as hatred to Q. Letizia but when I saw the pictures, my first thought was "Another day, another dress". She truly has tons of them!
I liked this one and would have found the whole appearance lovely,if it wasn't the comment about her toned arms. Yees, in my humble opinion such a romantic dress would be better suited on someone with hmm, un-mascular fairy-like arms. But that's a trifle really, she looks wonderful, she almost always does.

I love the relaxed feel of this pinafore style dress. The cut shows of Letizia’s toned arms. It’s perfect for the beach and walking around yet still appropriate for the other stops on the tour.

  7. Très jolie cette création bien portée par Letizia.. Sa couleur blanche met son léger bronzage en valeur ; j'aime beaucoup son sac dont elle a le même modèle dans des couleurs blanche et rouge !

  8. I wonder why she shortened the bodice. It's a little twee with that alteration. I would have preferred if the dress had a natural instead of empire waist. Nonetheless I think she technically is in vacation and I guess you have to let your hair down sometimes!

    1. I think I can supply an answer to your shortened bodice question. The dress might have been too long if I look closely at the model. Also because Letitia has quite a full bust on a very petite figure the original size might have been one size bigger than really needed to accommodate that. The only way to shorten the dress so as not to ruin the lacy scallop bottom was by shortening it from the waist. Just taking off some fabric from the skirt alone may have spoilt the pattern of the lace so shortening it from the bodice and/or skirt top might have been the only way it could be done to keep the buttons and buttonholes even but it did indeed spoil the original design I think. I don't think the frilly shoulder straps add anything to the design either and maybe a tad too girlish for Letitia. Other than that it is very fresh and pretty but just not quite right on her.

I don't think the bodice has been shortened at all. If you look closely, the bodice has 4 buttons on the model. It still has 4 buttons on Letizia. I think it looks shorter on Letizia because she has a bust, pulling the bodice up, and the model is flat chested, keeping the bodice at its full length. The bodice is also shorter in the front and longer in the back on Letizia, another indication that her bust is pulling it up.

    3. You are right! I went back to count the buttons and they are the same. Maybe if Queen Letizia pulled the front of the smocked top down the dress would sit closer to her natural waist, as it does on the model. I think it would look less twee that way.

Creo que lo cortó porque le quedaba demasiado largo.
A mí me gusta, pero dos vestidos blancos seguidos no me parece oportuno.

A bit of nonchalance which is rare with
    Leatizia, I love it!

Really not a fan of this dress. It looks like something you would wear to bed or to the beach and it doesn’t go with the shoes. She kind of reminds me of a little girl playing dress up.

  12. What a beautiful, romantic summer dress. Perfect for dressing up or down, and great for a warm summer day. I'm very partial to a white summer dress, especially an embroidered or linen.

The queen looks like the average summer vacationer in this easy breezy dress. The lace pattern is lovely. Thank you for the explanation on how the dress was shortened without touching the basic look. This reminds of the off the shoulder black and white CH which was successfully altered in the same way.
We have become so accustomed to seeing the queen in more streamlined dresses that this billowy look seems odd. The white dress from last year's family pictures was well received, but we have to give her points for trying new things instead of the same style in different colors. July
