This new hairstyle doesn't suit her: coloration is too light for her complexion and looks unnatural and the longer length is an unfortunate choice, looking like some Hollywood celebrity now. Btw Are those extensions or has she grown her hair longer??? Anyhow, her original shorter and darker coloured hairstyle was so much more natural, flattering and appropriate for her age and role.

Well I think she looks great. The clothes and the hair. I don't know what you mean by hair for her age! There is know such thing, you have hair how you want. It's not that much different than before.

@Anon 10:07 You sure did hit on every ridiculous bit of nonsense you could think of. What does “Hollywood” have to do with Mary’s hair? You really shouldn’t comment about something unless you actually know about it. Why think she has extensions? It is as though “extensions” are a bad word. Would it be so terrible if she did have them? She doesn’t by the way, but why would it matter? There are absolutely no rules about age dictating the length of a woman’s hair. It is not the 1950s anymore. Thank God there are not rules about how a queen/princess/duchess’s hair should look any more than there are rules about what they should wear. Imagine all the royalty looking like Queen Elizabeth. The problem is that you have gotten used to her looking a certain way and you don’t care for the change. She looks fine with longer hair and the color change. Good for her for not buying into some imaginary “rules”. She is entitled to try new looks as much as any other woman.

I just want to give an example.
Lots of Italian women even older than Mary love having long fair hair treated with balayage, shatush, highlights and also extensions.
I mean it's something you can choose according to tour complexion, face structure ,eye colour and so on.
Many women in their fifties look wonderful this way.
This has nothing to do with Hollywood.
In this case, I personally think that Mary could have done better.
She is such a gorgeous woman !

No extensions? Ha, ha. You're so funny.

@Anithahemma Thank you for the correction. I completely forgot that hair has stopped growing now that extensions are so readily available, whether they be clip in or professionally installed. Too bad those “extensions” didn’t blend in that awkward grown out part on the sides.

Appenidx: Not a fan of the black and white patterned blouse and also find it to clash with her new hair colour. I like the skirt. Find the combo with the purple shoes too contrived and try-hard and not going well with that blouse. Matches her bouquet though. Lol

@10:12pm - The blouse you do not like has to do with WWF. It's got chimps and birds on it. That's why Mary is wearing it. Thanks. ~Laurel~

  3. J'aime beaucoup la coupe de ce chemisier porté à merveille par Mary mais je ne suis pas fan de l'imprimé même s'il fait un clin d’œil à des espèces qui peuvent être en voie de disparition ; joli lissage de ses cheveux !

  5. This new hair lightening is not flattering in my opinion.
Maybe caramel highlights on a darker base colour would have been better.
    I like the shoes.

She looks so pretty! I've missed seeing her and all the other royal ladies in all of their sartorial splendor. I really like her blouse, skirt and belt and her hair is pretty too!!

The first picture, you can really see the resemblance between her and Josephine. I like the top and skirt. The color of the shoes is fabulous but I don’t like them with this outfit. I like her hair color. These photos aren’t doing it justice. I’ve seen other photos where it doesn’t look so brassy.

Agree Ava! On my screen the black and white looks more navy, but both colors look great with those lovely shoes;).

As usual she looks polished and effortlessly elegant. Love the purple shoes, yay!!
Introducing the bold color elevates the otherwise forgettable outfit.
BTW, I really would like to know why having longer hair, which actually is not my preference, has anything to do with Hollywood.

    1. Yes I agree widely, particularly "polished and effortlessly elegant" as ever (contrary to what was said here some days ago about looking older than other royal ladies). I just have some reservations as well about the new hair color, fine for end of summer time.

    2. And what! no comments about face fillers/botox etc. What's happened to the speculation about Princess Mary see saw on this blog a couple of days ago?

I love the shoes and the hair looks so soft and silky. I like that it is a little lighter for the summer. As always she looks fabulous!

@Deadeggs, so when people are respectfully commenting on fashion, you would like to redirect the conversation and start the petty and sanctimonious judgements...
    Wow!!

    1. @ Sandra. In fact I meant more or less the same as Deadeggs, no wish at all to redirect anything... but I am sometimes upset by the quick conclusions and speculations of some comments. This is such an obvious example.

@Sandra: In English there is something known as sarcasm. And from it, comes something called Sarcastic Humour. Deadeggs comment was a good example of it. I'm laughing. Hoping you'll get it and laugh too.

Oh I love this on her...the blouse is a beautiful print and great fit. Combined with the dark pleated skirt and colourful shoes, I think she looks both stylish and elegant. I think her hair is lovely too. Yes it’s a little lighter, but I find that often happens in the summer, with or without the hairdresser’s intervention. (V.M.)

The world forgets quickly. Mary used to be critizised for wearing fur from endangered species. But now she only wears wool coats.
