Queen Elizabeth II conferred the Honour of Knighthood on Captain Tom Moore at an Investiture at Windsor Castle in Windsor. British World War II veteran Captain Tom Moore raised over £32 million for the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic. The Queen awarded Captain Sir Tom Moore with his insignia of Knight Bachelor, after knighting him with the sword that belonged to her father, King George VI.
Stunning. What a wonderful lady! She makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteAgree, Rochelle. Found i was automatically smiling just looking at these photos. :)
DeleteHer Majesty the Queen looks really lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO awesome!!! Sir Tom was a true inspiration of looking at what we could each do in our own role/way to help. Well done Your Majesty and looking fresh and lovely as you do it!

Just wanted to quickly add that I just read she attended Beatrice’s intimate wedding before this. Can’t wait for the pictures. Also Her Majesty is just amazing and picked a lovely outfit to do double duty for wedding and knighting someone.

Agree with Glo!
DeleteObviously her Majesty deals with very different people these days. An old veteran raising money to help other people on the one hand - on the other hand young, healthy, rich family members who tell everybody how strong they are while doing nothing but complain.
What an amazing feat! Arise Sir Tom!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful historic occasion: Her Majesty, 94, knighting Capt. Moore, 100! Capt. Moore's achievement is awe inspiring, and it was only right that he be gratefully acknowledged and decorated. The Queen looked very nice in her mint coat and hat. She is such an amazing lady.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see a current pic of the Queen!
ReplyDeleteOh, how stunning does the Queen look. I just love her ensemble, the colours are gorgeous of her dress and coat, love the hat. She looks sensational.
ReplyDeleteWonderful occasion with the Queen looking lovely. Well done Sir Tom. Lovely photo of Sir Tom surrounded by family members. A granddaughter or great-granddaughter is wearing a lovely dress too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to be thanked at 100 ! I admire his humble speech and his stamina! Congratulations ! Her Majesty had a busy day with P.Beatrice's morning wedding! Happy day!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exquisite outfit on the Queen. The coat is a gorgeous colour, and I love the small pleats at the sides. It’s a fabulous hat too, with flowers picking up the touches of pink in the dress.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Moore is an inspiration in these dark times. (V.M.)
Totally agree wrt Her Majesty's exceptionally beautiful outfit, and the gallant Captain Moore. I'm so glad the royal family will always have the memory of this doubly happy day to enjoy.
DeleteWell done Sir Tom. You're an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHer Majesty the Queen of Australia is a person to be proud of ;an inspiration to all.,Queen Elizabeth looks wonderful;the hat and ensemble look bright and cheery.
ReplyDeleteSir Thomas Moore is also an inspiration;an amazing person.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sir Thomas.
The white dress worn by the grandaughter (or great grandaughter) of Sir Thomas looks pretty and interesting. Pity we can't see more of it.
Love the soft colour/s of the Queen's outfit. The roses on the hat and the white
gloves are very queenly, Elizabeth II style.
If the Queen wore the same outfit for her grandaughter's wedding, it certainly wouldn't have stolen the limelight from the bride.
New photo on the blog. We can now see the dress of the young girl and the lady beside her. For the young girl it could be a Dior but probably not. Love the subtle elegence and colour of the lady's outfit. The two men look smart and very correctly dressed for the occasion. And Sir Thomas looks very dapper.
DeleteAu château de Windsor, entre le mariage matinal de Béatrice et cette cérémonie, la reine a su se vêtir élégamment d'un manteau vert-pastel accordé à un chapeau délicatement fleuri... Quelle journée !

ReplyDeleteWonderful. The Queen looks lovely in her minty green outfit, Capt Sir Tom is pleased as punch and I love his grand daughter's dress.

Quelle élégance! Ce vert pastel lui va à ravir. Son chapeau agrémenté de délicates fleurs roses est sublime. Belle combinaison de couleurs qui font ressortir sa beauté.
ReplyDeleteThuis is really such an emotional moment
ReplyDeleteQueen looks lovely
More Toms would make a better world
