Prince Joachim of Denmark, younger son of Queen Margrethe II, has undergone an operation due to a blood clot in his brain at the University Hospital in Toulouse, France. The operation was successful and the Prince is in a stable condition.
The press statement of the Danish Royal family is as the following: "Prince Joachim was late last night admitted to Toulouse University Hospital in France. Immediately thereafter, the Prince underwent surgery for a blood clot in the brain. The operation was successful and Prince Joachim’s condition is stable. Princess Marie is with her husband"
Prince Joachim is currently living in France with Princess Marie and their two children. The Prince has been receiving training at the French Military Academy, the École Militaire. The family was on holiday at the Chateau de Cayx when Prince Joachim was hospitalized.
