  1. Queen Silvia looks adorable here. Can't be enthusiastic about King Carl Gustaf's electric blue blazer, but I guess it's at least...summery. (If the ladies can be praised for looking summery, I guess the gents can too 😊)

  2. I think this question has been asked and answered before, but why do female royals and their children dress in native costumes but the male royals do not? Queen Silvia, by the way, looks wonderful in her costume. I'm not sure about the King's bright blue jacket, although it appears to match the trim at the hemline of the Queen's skirt.

    1. There's no tradition among royals to wear provincial dresses at all. Silvia started to wear the Sweden dress when she arrived and now Victoria sometimes wears the dress from a part of her duchy, and one of the Öland dresses. Maybe it will catch on, but I doubt it, not many people actually wear these dresses, they are extremely expensive these days.

I want to see the men dress in their country heritage clothing. If they have women wearing it, then the men should also.

    1. Haha, sounds like you think wearing these costumes is some kind of punishment, "If they have women wearing it..." who are "they"? Nobody is forcing Sils to dress like this, people wear what they like and feel comfortable in.
The King would look absolutely ridiculous in an Öland dress and risk becoming a laughing stock. :-D

  5. The Queen looks wonderful (and CP Victoria is looking so much like her). I love to see her in national dress. As for the King, he is bright and summery, that's for sure (but he looks to be somewhat matching her dress, so I'll give it a pass).

The king looks odd in such a bright blue, though it is the same or a close shade of blue in her outfit.
