Queen Margrethe II attended the Royal Life Guards' Parade 2020 at Marselisborg Slot and presented the "Queen's Clock" to one guard for his exceptional service. Normally, the parade takes place at the Royal Life Guard barracks in Gothersgade, Copenhagen, but this year the parade was held for the first time at the Queen's Queen's Aarhus Castle.
Marselisborg Slot, is a royal residence of the Danish Royal Family in Aarhus. It has been the summer residence of Queen Margrethe II since 1967.
At the parade, the Queen presented a clock to the guard who was honored for having been a good friend and a capable soldier. The handing over of "The Queen's Clock" has been a tradition since 1970. The event was performed with fewer people present than usual due to the coronavirus situation.
I love Queen Margrethe, but think this dress does not flatter her. It does look cool and comfortable, though.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you. Summery dress but not flattering.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen is lovely, however her outfit is not suitable for the occasion. It looks far too casual, though the shoes are good for walking on rough stones.
ReplyDeleteTo tell the Queen that what she is wearing is not suitable...... unbelievable.
DeleteI think she looks great, I love the dress, so summery. A classic shirt dress is always un style.
ReplyDeleteChel
I think that she looks lovely in her breezy dress. AUTHENTIC AND UNPRETENTIOUS.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteShe looks wonderful, happy, casual. Not dressed to the nines like the english queen. Unpretentious and how good is that. At one with her people who love her. Well done. And I'm from Australia.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress, it is very becoming on her, and so summery. She looks well and happy.
ReplyDeleteTo see the pictures brings back a lot of great memories from my two tours of duty guarding Marselisborg slot in the summer of 1979.
ReplyDeleteFrom Canada.
