To mark International Nurses’ Day, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Anne, The Countess of Wessex and Princess Alexandra have joined together to pay tribute to the world’s nurses, speaking with healthcare professionals working in Australia, India, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Bahamas, Cyprus, Tanzania and the UK.
On the calls, Members of The Royal Family spoke with nurses about the work they are doing, with many talking about the impact of Covid-19 and how they were coping with the pandemic. On each call, members of The Royal Family reiterated their thanks to nurses across the Commonwealth for the incredible work they do on a daily basis.
Princess Alexandra, The Queen’s cousin, spoke to the head of the Naval Nursing Service in her role as Patron of Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service.

I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that print, too.

They all look great!
ReplyDeleteAgree. I like Sophie’s hair down. Her blow out looks great. It was great seeing Sophie and Catherine check in with the nurses of places they have visited it the past.

It is great to see the royals come together with this message. Kate's dress is nice and bright;all of the ladies look good. Thankyou (Tara)
ReplyDeleteAgree with you, Tara!
DeleteLovely to see the family all doing their bit. Pss Alexandra looks marvellous, what a lovely royal lady she is. Love her blue blouse.
ReplyDeleteI cried watching this 😢 They reached out across the commonwealth, how thoughtful of them.
ReplyDeleteHowever, i wish they had included the Sussexs, they were presidents of the commonwealth and did alot of work across the countries.
Duchess Kate's dress is lovely. She dresses up well for a video call.

It is allright they had not included the Sussexs. It was International Nurses day and the focus was on the nurses and their work. If there were Sussex, it would again be a show about the Sussex, and the nurses would stay in the background (just as it happened along the African Journey of the Sussex - African victims of violence and poverty were pushed on the fringes of interest and there was in the center of attention talk about not living and only existing of a certain person). In addition, they are busy trying to earn their living.
DeleteIt would probably be difficult for them to join people who have "British upper lips"
Beaucoup d'allure chez toutes ces dames.. Superbes les nouvelles boucles d'oreilles ; je les verrais bien dans mon petit écrin à bijoux !
ReplyDeleteLIt was a lovely idea. Especially like Kate's blue dress and the blue blouse worn by Princess Alexandra--another royal lady of a certain vintage like Queen Sonja or Princess Benedikte. who always look well groomed and classy in every situation.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very good effort and gesture by the Royal Family. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by Princess Anne's comment about "understanding the people of the islands" when she was speaking to the man from Tanzania. Tanzania is a large country in East Africa, not an island in the Caribbean (often referred to as "the islands"). If she made that error, surely the people editing the video would have caught that, or it's mis-inference if it was meant in a different way?

Zanzibar, Tanzania is an island off the main land
