On the occasion of World Asthma Day, the Duchess of Gloucester, in her capacity as Patron of Asthma UK, sent a thanks message to everyone who are providing support to people with asthma. The Duchess has been Patron of Asthma UK since 1975.
The Duchess of Gloucester joined a call with Kay Boycott, Asthma UK’s Chief Executive, specialist asthma nurse Caroline Fredericks and the charity’s services lead Helen Sinton.
During the call, the Duchess said the following: "On World Asthma Day, at a particularly daunting time, I would like to thank everyone going the extra mile to provide comfort, advice and treatment to those living with asthma.
Services offered by charities, including Asthma UK of which I am proudly Patron, have become even more of a lifeline over the past few months, especially for those of you shielding at home. To everyone contributing to these efforts - whether it’s in person, over the telephone or virtually – I know you are under extraordinary pressure to keep people with asthma safe, and you are doing an extraordinary job. Thank you.".
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's World Asthma Day has a special importance for people with asthma, because the disease affects the lungs and airways and these people should receive the support they need, more than ever.
Beaucoup du naturel chez la duchesse qui utilise le téléphone pour son message. J'ai toujours admiré la coupe de ses cheveux ; actuellement, je l'envie mais peut-être que cette photo n'est pas récente !!!
