On May 12, 2020, Tuesday, The Countess of Wessex visited St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey together with NHS's voluntary group ‘Nourish our Nurses’ to celebrate International Nurses Day.
‘Nourish our Nurses’ was founded by Jo-Ann Airikkala and consists of a team of sixteen volunteers. The Countess joined the team and helped packing and delivering of 200 bags to St Peter’s Hospital. Each week, the bags prepared by the group are distributed to different hospitals.
During the visit, The Countess met with Andy Field, Chairman and Andrea Lewis, Interim Chief Nurse, at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital, and also nurses and midwives from different wards. Some lucky nurses and midwives found more than just food in their bags as The Countess placed extra gifts donated by local businesses into the golden envelopes.
La comtesse continue à être bénévole ; j'aime beaucoup son naturel, sa fraîcheur !
ReplyDeleteNice natural photos and wonderful to see Countess Sophie out and about as opposed to on a screen---in Scotland, sadly incarceration continues! Great initiative for supporting hard pressed nursing and medical staff.
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely and very approachable.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me she's the hardest working rep for royal family right now. I think she's doing a great job helping .
ReplyDeleteI love seeing Sophie out and about, always. She is such an underrated member of the BRF. Such a champion of her causes. Her sweater looks so cozy.

The Countess has been working hard through the pandemic, quietly getting on with things, no fuss or bother, she is an inspiration. I admire her greatly. She couldn't look any better, lovely and casual. What a lady!
