On May 15, 2020, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit spoke with 19 children from the third and fourth grade of Fjellgardane Primary School in Bykle municipality via video call. The main theme of the conversation was celebrations of May 17.
Norwegian Constitution Day is Norway's national day and is an official public holiday celebrated on May 17 every year. While many countries celebrate their national day with official ceremonies and military parades, Norway’s May 17 is more of a party for everyone, especially children.
