On May 8, 2020, Friday, King Philippe, Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Belgian Prime Minister Sophie Wilmes attended a commemoration ceremony held on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, at the Congress Column and Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Brussels.
In Europe, World War II officially came to an end on 8 May 1945. On 8 May 1945, the Allies accepted Germany’s surrender, about a week after Adolf Hitler had committed suicide.
NATAN Monki Midi Dress
The dress is cute but, maybe not for this event. The hat is not good for any event.
ReplyDeleteVery nice outfit for this occasion
DeleteI like the dress on her even if it is Natan but do not like the beige accessories one bit. The hat is winter wooly while the dress is quite summery. I really think that with black accessories she would have looked far more elegant and perhaps more fitting to the occasion as well.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is fine . I like her hair style the most.
ReplyDeleteI agree, her grown out hair is looking great. As for the dress, it's ok, not great, but doesn't make me mad :)
DeleteChel
Agree about the hairstyle.
DeleteJe vois une jolie robe-chemisier dont l'imprimé va à merveille à la Reine ; beaucoup d'allure avec le petit chapeau !
ReplyDeleteI love this ensemble. The beige accessories, I love, the addition of the gloves, so chic. The hat is great.
ReplyDeleteI cannot say it better.
DeleteSorry, not a winner for me at all. I agree with Nalerina that the hat is wintry while the dress is summery but my main criticism is that the dress is so unflattering and makes her look really wide across her hips. It does her no favours at all. I like the pattern, though
ReplyDeleteShe can do better, by far.
ReplyDeleteVery elegant dress. The hat is a good model but fabrics seem a bit heavy.
ReplyDeleteHowever I am a bit surprised that the Queen is not wearing black. I thought that Belgians in general always wear black at a commemoration. Anna
The occasion is the real event here,, not the attire. 75 yrs n remembering all those who were doing their part for the freedom which we all enjoy n sometimes take for granted. I appreciate her outfit, as I was wondering why the Dutch are always in entire black which we did not even do in UK. Where was a lot of red, white n blue.
