Big Congrats to the new mother and the baby!

I always had a soft spot for Stephanie - who lost her mother just before her wedding, her marriage to the man who will one day be the patriarch of the country hence making her the matriarch.

(YES, unlike the past, monarchy doesn't "rule" the country but I think their symbolic presence is more than enough to attract interest to the country itself which I think has more positive influence than negative.)

The fact that they took their time with being parents I think is a testament that she took her role very seriously indeed unlike what so many people would like to believe.

Wish the new family the absolute best !

  11. From Joann - Wonderful news ! A bright spot in a troubled, scary world right now. We all needed this. By the way, there is a lovely picture out on the internet of Grand Duke Henri and the Grand Duchess , through Skype, looking at the proud Papa and the baby. I don't know how to post it here, but it would be nice if someone could do it.

  13. Lovely, lovely news. So happy for them and so delighted that all has gone well. They have always seemed to be such a charming and relatively low maintenance couple (given their status) with a well developed sense of duty. Congratulations to them all.
