Danish Queen Margrethe II Celebrates Her 80th Birthday Today

Danish Queen Margrethe turns 80 today. Margrethe II was born on April 16, 1940 in Copenhagen. Margrethe succeeded her father upon his death on January 14, 1972. The Queen cancelled all of the Royal Danish House’s planned events to be held in connection with the upcoming 80th birthday. The Royal House released a series of photos on the occasion of the birthday. On April 14, DR1 broadcasted a documentary telling the interest of the Queen in art. Happy birthday to you, Queen Margrethe of Denmark.
The Queen's eight grandchildren, that is, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine, Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena sent a video greeting their grandmother's birthday. (Due to the situation with the spread of coronavirus, it is not possible for the Queen to be with her grandchildren on her 80th birthday.)

She seems to be very emotionally intelligent. There’s a sensitivity to everything happening around I had noticed for a very long time. Well before our current environment. She seems to always reflect the mood and feelings of her nation. In good and happy times (remember her speech when Frederick turned 50? It was just beautiful and simple, direct) and in challenging ones. It shows in her demeanour and choice of attire. Look at these pictures released for her birthday. Very appropriate given the dark days we are going through. May she have a long and healthy life. CH
There is a lovely mashup video online of some of the European Royals sending video Birthday messages to Queen Margarethe. Lovely hearing them call her 'Daisy' (which is the meaning of her name) and calling her 'Aunt', which of course she is to some of them. - Anon 9:13

Congratulations to Queen Margrethe and wishes for many more healthy years. Great photos of the family. Thanks for the tip re the video which I shall look for later. Re wearing dull colours in difficult times, you may recall that the late Queen Mother, during the Second World War refused to wear army uniform and always dressed in her usual floating pastel dresses throughout the war in order to bring some cheer to the people she was visiting. And they loved her for it
I don't think the photos looked photoshopped at all - photoshopped meaning doctored, manipulated, altered to misrepresent, or falsely represent what wasn't in the original such as taking someone out or adding someone or something in. They may well be re-touched, meaning refocused, colour augmentation, made darker or brighter, noise reduction, white balance, etc. all of which is 100% normal in professional or amateur photography. - Anon 9:13
