The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently making an official visit to Ireland taking place between Tuesday 3rd March and Thursday 5th March, at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. On the first day of their visit on March 3, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Ireland's President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina Coyne at the official presidential residence Aras an Uachtarain. The Duchess wore a new printed silk peplum dress by Alessandra Rich. |
Yes! The return of this beautiful green coat and so chic headband! While I am not usually a fan of busy, patterned dresses, this one is quite pretty. The varying shades of green are so complementary on Catherine. The sleeves and cinched, pleated waist are a great style and fit for her. What a polished and sharp way to start this visit.

Correction...I did not realize that this is a new coat. It looked so similar to other Catherine Walker coats and Catherine has several green coats. So, great new coat!

Completely agree!
DeleteWell said, Shelley. I agree on all points.

Great look. This is a fantastic choice of dress for their Ireland visit today. Very sleek.
ReplyDeleteIt seems now that almost every time anyone visits Ireland, they must wear full or partial green. Is it becoming a little tired and over-done to wear the country's national colour? Or just easier and less to think about wardrobe choices?
ReplyDeleteI've always loved that overcoat and the headband no matter where Catherine wears them.

Duchess Kate always looks very elegant. The dress would have looked even better with a belt.
ReplyDeleteJ.
yes, I prefer it with the black belt as per the model. Otherwise, I love the design.
DeleteThis dress is a no for me, the pattern itself is colorful and very flattering to her skin tone, the top part would be Ok combined with solid black trousers, but as one piece I find it too busy, the balloon sleeves, pleats , and jewel buttons , they are all back in style, but altogether and with the busy print is too fussy and a little gaudy for me. I do love the coat, and the headband is a very good alternative to a hat.
ReplyDeleteAgree with your comments re the dress--just too many "features." As it is, she looks too slim. Actually the version on the model looks better with the addition of the belt. Think the duchess would benefit by adding a belt as well to break up the long, straight lines of the dress.
DeleteWould have liked the dress more with a belt, perhaps. All in all, there's a lot of green (yes, I know it's because of the host country) and I sometimes tire of her oftentimes so monochromatic looks. Also, not overly fond of the quite simple headbands some of the royals have recently sported. A more elaborate one, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteUf, es una abuelita total. Un horror, la verdad.
ReplyDeleteI’m not a fan of the headband. It still screams “Hillary Clinton!” to me. Love the pretty green dress, though.
ReplyDeleteThe dress has a stunning design - look at the cut of the peplum and blouse part and the neck, wonderful! - but the colour and pattern of the fabric are, and I do not use the word lightly, godawful. It makes even lovely Catherine look frumpy and matronly. Another fabric, and the dress would be glorious!
ReplyDeleteNice coat, but the dress is odd: the pattern definetly not my favorite and the buttons, NO. - Lisa
ReplyDeleteI really like that dark green coat. The dress however, is both ugly on its own and clashes with the coat.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Irish are tired of people visiting wearing green attire :-)
Gorgeous green dress. I love the puffy sleeves with the narrow wristband and the pin tucking on the front. Less keen on the high neck but it does look good under the coat. Fantastic start to this visit. Looking forward to the next instalment.
ReplyDeleteI adore the Duchess and she rarely makes a misstep in her fashion choices. Although I appreciate the nod to Ireland with the green, someone needs to burn the monstrosity she is wearing immediately. The patten and cut along with the headband makes her look matronly. Love her beautiful smile though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit on Duchess Catherine.
ReplyDeleteCatherine sieht hier fantastisch aus...und der Hund vom Präsidenten-Paar ist sooo knuffig süß (und fotogen)!

Fantastic coat and dress, just beautiful. The cut of the dress is magnificent, so flattering. That pleated waist with the peplum, and those sleeves are perfect. Not to mention the color. I'm not a fan of the headband, but I know I'm the lone wolf here, lol.

Love the pictures 3 & 4! She is such a beauty inside and outside!!!

Catherine und William sind ein echter Glücksfall für das Königshaus !@
ReplyDeleteI love everything about Catherine's look today and especially the warmth between these two couples. The photos with the pup are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI like this as well. Good pattern, different but not weird, beautiful colors, and I think the more substantial sleeves add something to her very-slim frame (which I know she likes). Not thrilled with this headband though, and I have liked others she's worn. I think a ponytail would have been fine, or her hair up on the sides. I like the earrings against the buttons, someone matched those carefully!
ReplyDeleteSeeing the model with the wide belt, I might have liked that, but again, she looks lovely.
She is always perfect 😘
ReplyDeleteThe coat is beautiful. The fit, tailoring and length is spot on. The dress I do like better with the black belt as per worn by the model. Not a fan of the headband. The diamond earrings are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe coat is ok. The dress and the headband a big, big no!
ReplyDeletethe patter is too local, gosh cathering get a stylist pls!!
ReplyDeleteGreat look. I see the camera hog is walking away on it's 4 legs.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit, the dress has interesting color variations that made it pop with vibrancy. The cut and style are magnificent on Catherine. Especially like the sleeves and the top of the dress.... JT
ReplyDeleteWhat terrible choices. Just can’t believe this is her. That headband is particularly awful. Oh my... CH
