On March 9, 2020, The Duchess of Cambridge hosted a Gala Dinner in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Place2Be at Buckingham Palace in London. The Duchess is Patron of Place2Be, which provides emotional support at an early age and believes no child should face mental health difficulties alone. For the event, The Duchess of Cambridge re-wore a bespoke royal blue embellished Jenny Packham gown that she last wore at Bollywood Gala in Mumbai, India in 2016. |
Gorgeous dress, gorgeous hair, and shoes (although they can’t be seen in these pictures) that I suspect had sparkly-thing-loving little girls in raptures 😊.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteShe looks amazing - I loved this dress when she wore it on tour and I still think it's fabulous. I like her hair as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning dress and a glorious colour for D. Catherine. This is timeless elegance. (V.M.)

DeleteTo say she looks beautiful is not enough to say!

You looking perfect tonight.......This is one of the nicest Evening dresses I ever saw on the Duchess of Cambridge. Colour and style are just perfect, and really flattering for her figure. Also, the shorter hair suits her very well .
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteLovely!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful-head to toe, even the purse is fine with the same beading/embroidery as the bodice.

Stunningly beautiful dress. Delighted to see it again. Great to see her at her most glam for this event which must make the children feel that they are special.
ReplyDeleteWow, she looks beautiful. I love love LOVE her shorter hair. It looks so bouncy and healthy. She is always such a joy to behold. But I wish she would work in her posture. It makes my neck hurt to see her always standing like that.
ReplyDeleteIn total agreement with most of the previous posts. The dress was gorgeous in India and is gorgeous tonight. This color is definitely one of her best. Hair is styled so beautiful.

So glad to see this one again! I loved it when she wore it on tour, the color and beading are just gorgeous. Her hair is so flattering at this length, glad she got a little haircut recently.

Most of the people has liked this dress since the first outing. It has fantastic craftwork on it and the colour is beautiful, but in design it is really not a big deal in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the gown this time as opposed to the last time the Duchess wore this piece. Navy shoes, bag, blue earrings etc.. too much blue, but this time the shoes are silver and earrings are mixed a much better look. Not so matronly looking minus the cape she wore last time. Tonight she looked really beautiful. Hair and makeup are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess of Cambridge looks fabulous. She must have made the children's day by dressing up - I know this would have been a highlight for me when I was a little girl.
ReplyDeleteTala
Beautiful, but I wish she would have kept her beautiful updo from the church service earlier in the day.
ReplyDeleteWoW what a classylady the Duchess is...perfect love the dress so Munch she is glooiing
ReplyDeleteThis dress is simply breathtaking. A good example for the fact that fashion-independently timeless clothes do not age anybody. This one could be worn from 18 to 80 (this is the case for many of the Duchess' gowns). The design is nothing special, but let's not forget, the Duchess is not and should not be a "shop-window mannequin" for fashion. Her hair is the perfect length for this bouncy style. Perfect from head to toe, also because the exaggerated flower-laden Erdem earrings are partly hidden and so cannot dominate the show. (Ann.)
ReplyDeleteProbably I’m the only one but I don’t like the dress and I think her hairstyle is awful. She wears her hair down often during the day and somehow wearing it down during the evening is not suitable for me. Especially this time when her hair is too much in her face. An updo would have been better. It’s a fail for me, she looks older than she is. I’m sorry I usually like her style but not this time.
ReplyDeleteI like Cathrine. But even if I do NOT like her SIL at all, I think, Meghan shows us, how to dress REALLY spectacular. Her "Farewell-Mini-Tour" the last days was impressive. I must confess, I often had to force myself an internal "WOW". Kate mostly dresses in the common way, seen since years. To be precise: Nothing wrong with that, but I sometimes get the impression same ol' same ol'...as we Germans say: It doesn't pull me off my stool ;-). Take care of you everybody, Frieda
ReplyDeleteThis dress is like a mother of the bride lace dress. Good for a woman in their 50 or 60, but too aging for Kate, despite the wonderfull craftwork made.
ReplyDelete2011-2012 were the best fashion years for Kate.
I agree. The dress is very uninspired. The beading worked for her India tour but outside of that specific occasion its insipid. I'm not sure why the DoC goes for bespoke pieces only to look like she snagged a dress from the mother of the bride section of a wedding dress store.
Delete>> Good for a woman in their 50 or 60 <<, Oh, please not, I am in my late fifties and I would not wear a boring dress like this. If at all, it could be something for my mother in her eighties.
Deleteyes!!!
DeleteI’m obviously in the minority here :), but cold colours like this blue do not really suit warm-coloured brunettes likes Kate or Mary. They look great on people with blonde or very dark colouring, but the colour makes Kate look tired. But perhaps another colour would have clashed too much with the colours of the organisation. And for some reason many women seem to prefer blue even if it doesn’t suit them, so if she feels comfortable dressed in it, then we shouldn’t have nothing againts it either! 😄
ReplyDeleteMuy guapa, con un color y corte estupendo. Un vestido que se debe usar muchas veces.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is a big WOW! Great, rich color and love that she wore her hair down and styled after the updo earlier. Makeup is spot on. What a terrific asset to the English royal family.

This dress reminds me a high school prom dress, something you can buy from net shops, so I'm not big fan, but the cutting is very becoming on Kate. The fluffy dress suits her well, it gives her some nice curves. -Siri
