It is with pleasure to see the Princess Royal out and about. She is a ray of light in midst of this COVID 19 scare. This Virus changes everyone's life and what one can and can not do. The Zimbabwe Minister of Defense OPPAH MUSHINGURI-KASHIRI said this is GODS PUNISHMENT FOR THE WEST,for imposing sanctions on her country. Really bring God in this?. Maybe this lady should wake up and smell the coffee. So let me get this , God punished the whole World aha. Now this is a new one on me.

Religion does three things quite effectively
      Divides people
      Deludes people
      Controls people

Isn't coronavirus in Britain? You have 1950 confirmed sick and 71 dead. There are no deaths in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic, (Slovakia 84 sick, Czech -410 sick) and yet schools, all shops except food and pharmacies are closed in these countries. All public events are postponed and prohibited. I do not understand the behavior of the British, I do not understand the behavior of politicians, I do not understand the members of the royal family. Do you want a situation like Italy today?

One woman attends one minor event - and that's "the British"? Many people are in isolation or quarantine or working from home - and waiting for the government to catch up.

I for one totally agree! Irresponsible from Anne and all royals who can’t get above their narrow mindedness. What are they thinking?!?!!

I agree. That's just the wrong way to show the stiff upper lipp. Make people stay at home, this is the acutal royal duty. #stfah

    4. This criticism is totally unfounded. The Princess Royal and the rest of the family have been following our current government guidelines which may be different for other countries. She is not over 70 in a high risk health group so she was not told to stay at home. The Queen has now cancelled her immediate events and is going to Windsor until after Easter, acting on Government advice again.

    5. We go through a difficult period, I think it would be nice not to enter into comparisons between countries on this difficult topic; let'us not add a layer on top of difficulties. In addition one of the most difficult subjects for blogging is religions, let us also stay away from it.
Since we are likely to have little to comment on, we could provide links to the website of fashion designers and comment on their collection.

Should she not set an example and stay home? This is alarming that even people in positions who influence significantly the overall behaviour choose to ignore the risk they pose to the society overall by allow these events to continue. To me it’s an appalling behaviour and lowers quite a bit my appreciation of the royals who can’t see the bigger picture. Lavinia

Most Brits are not influenced by what she does. She didn't organise the event, it doesn't look as if there are significant numbers there and presumably everyone involved went of their own free will. We don't actually have enforced quarantine at the moment.

    2. Completely agree with you. Royals should act as good examples. Even if not everybody cares what they do! Even if she's not the one that organized the event, even though there where not a lot of people. Its her decision and she gives a sign to the people and should stay at home! I have been watching all the other engagements of the last days with the same horror. Don't they see whats happening?? Lessens my esteem for some of them.

    3. They should be good examples, but they are not. If you look at former Kings Juan-Carlos of Spain and Albert of Belgium, or Prince Abdrew of GB...

  14. Exactement !

  16. The Brits only reason that the timing for shutting down the country hasn't come yet, they're still not even near the full capacity of their health care. So since you can't stop a virus, only slow the spread, they're not quite there yet. It's only matter of different scientific views. Only time can tell what's right or wrong. Pss Anne is not going against the British authorities so no need to shame her. She looks good!

Well, it will be unforgivable if she is exposed, and ends up passing the virus along to the Queen or Prince Philip. She can infect others even if she does not have any symptoms. At her age, she is at higher risk, and having parents in their 90s should make her even more cautious. I don't think her love of horses should be more important than the health of her family.

Staying at home is crucial. It is the highest form of civic duty. By not travelling you’re avoiding being exposed as approximately 80 per cent of infected cases in the country are recent travellers or those close to them. By practicing social distancing, you’ll greatly reduce your chance of becoming infected and spreading the virus to others. It’s basic common sense. They just choose ignore it and I will never look at the British royals the same way again. Way to much selfishness. CH
