The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently working from home. On its Instagram page, Kensington Palace released two new photos of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge showing them working. In the message added to the photos, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge call on people to take care of their mental health. |
Self-isolation and social distancing can pose huge challenges to our mental health — in recent weeks The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been in regular contact with organisations and patronages to understand the issues they are facing during this difficult time. Last week, by means of telephone, The Duke talked to Mind charity CEO Paul Farmer, and The Duchess talked to Catherine Roche, CEO of Place2be. Both charities are foundations of which the respective royal is a patron. |
They need to be seen now and I like how KP is acting in accordance with that. This is a way to keep monarchy going.
ReplyDeleteWe live in a softened generation. I believe tough times great stronger minds.
ReplyDeleteBut on them to be doing something they believe in.

Staying at home and preventing the further spread of COVID-19, especially to more vulnerable populations, is not the mark of a softened generation. We need to stay home to less the load on hospitals and healthcare workers who are sacrificing their own lives to save others.
DeleteGreat to see them. Trying to give people hope in these trying time,is what is needed.Any small gesture is appreciated by the people of the UK. Keep on doing it.
ReplyDeleteA great reminder and initiative for all. As this situation continues, we need to be more creative to meet the social and mental needs of ourselves and others. We “invited by video” my in-laws to dinner Friday. It was fun telling the kids Grandpop & Grandmom we’re coming to dinner. We had the dining room ready like we do when they usually come over. My husband, myself and our kids had dinner at our own house while my husband’s parents had dinner at theirs but we connected using Skype. It was a lot of fun and felt more like dinner together.

William and Catherine are showing the world what grace under adversity is all about. Bless them.
ReplyDeleteWhile I understand the decades-long rationale of reversing photos for page appeal, I think it's ridiculous in this case, because the Duchess writes with her right hand. I still love her suit, though. ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the reversal may be because she and William are actually using the same desk. The room she's in is unquestionably their sitting room. The sofa cushions are the same as those photos when they entertained the Obamas. It's unlikely they would have two writing tables in their sitting room. His could be taken in a different room but perhaps the reversal is to make the desk look different. Very odd.
DeleteInteresting because they met the Obamas at Kensington Palace and it says these are from Amber Hall. Maybe they moved the sofa or have 2 of the same.

why do you think the photo is reversed? she has a pen on the left hand (as suggested by her rings). she is indeed right-handed but holding the pen on the left hand doesn't necessarily mean that she was actually writing with it, I think she was just fiddling with the pen, like many of us would do when speaking on the phone. having said that, I also agree that the photo is too staged, I am even thinking that she was not even speaking on the phone for real at that moment. I don't question that she did indeed call her charity but not at the moment depicted on the photo. this was clearly taken on the day they visited the NHS call center and they decided to release after they had the actual calls to illustrate it... On the other hand, they just made one phone call each, hmm...
DeleteLove the small chair by the window, for small folks to look out the window.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific. Great to see them both utilising their skills and keeping the lines of communication open to charities and organisations. Keeping in contact and morale boosting, all of which are vitally important. Well done.
ReplyDeleteIt's so staged. A bit over the top. Frieda

DeleteI would rather see a "staged" photo than nothing at all. The Cambridges have shown their care and concern through their good works.
DeletePB Coleman, agreed. It's nice they are releasing something. I enjoy royal pics, and if this is what we get in times like this, it is certainly better than nothing!

Great pair working together for us all.Times are uncertain;this is no flu. It is an unseen weapon of terrorism ;but they won't call it that;remember novichok in Salisbury; a bioweapon
ReplyDeleteVery Wonderful Photo of Prince William and Catherine
ReplyDeleteFrieda, I totally agree. Cosy clothes woul'd have been so much better, like Sofia and Carl Philip had. This does not look natural at all.
ReplyDeleteI think they took these pics on the same day they went to their engagement at the dispatch office. They are only releasing it now.
DeleteI don't believe Prince William is earnestly taking this pandemic seriously after he was caught on video speculating that it was media hype and making jokes about potentially spreading during his Irish Tour. It left a bad taste in my mouth especially since his father caught it (and thankfully recovered). Prince William showed that he us unable to think about others such as those especially vulnerable to COVID-19 when he makes jokes like that. Not a good look.
I am glad they are stepping up and showing care and concern.
ReplyDeleteWe have those books too! My in-laws gave them to us for our son. Guess I can say I have a royal bookshelf, lol
