Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended the opening of the Fabergé Chamber at the Amalienborg Museum in Christian VIII's Mansion in Amalienborg. The Fabergé Chamber, which will be a permanent part of the museum, exhibits Russian jewels from the period 1860-1917, as well as a selection of the Danish Crown Jewels, focusing on the close ties between the Danish and Russian monarchies. |
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo with Queen Margarethe emerging from the curtain and Princess Benedikte following close behind. The Queen's suit is perfect for her, and Benedikte's rust colored dress and fur-trimmed scarf with brooch are very pretty. The sisters seemed to enjoy seeing the precious jewels and objects.
ReplyDeleteQueen Margarethe and her sister look so regal. They appear to enjoy the veiwing.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks smart but her suit would benefit from a bright scarf or shawl. Princess Benedikte looks supremely elegant as always
ReplyDeleteAnnieM - Queen Margrethe is well known for her very colorful "Large Marge" outfits. Today she chose to go for a totally dark ensemble. Even the two young girls are in mostly dark clothes. It's winter. Some of us like dark colors year-round. I don't see a problem with the Queen showing up without some bright colors on her. Benedikte is her usual elegant self; today she chose a bright color with a dark accent. ~Rose~
DeleteLovely pictures of these wonderfull sisters, they like to spread the warmth of the family.
ReplyDeleteThe striped grey suit is typical Margaretha style and very good on her.
Great look for both RL. Beautiful Treasure and so close to home.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen did look lovely but I agree with AnnieM that a colorful scarf or shawl would have really made the outfit “pop”. The Princess looked elegant. I love to look at all the jewels and tiaras.
ReplyDeleteBoth the queen and princess Benedikte look wonderful, and what a great surprise the picture of the tiara is.... this is queen Alexandrines safir tiara that was sold in an auction earlier last year by the Rosenborg-sisters. The buyer is unknown, but am happy learn the tiara is still in Denmark.
ReplyDeleteThey both look great. Looks like a wonderful exhibit. I love seeing these two together!

The Queen’s suit is an excellent fit and quite a flattering colour. I think it would have benefitted from more interesting accessories. As it is the brooch in particular practically disappears against the jacket. P. Benedikte looks wonderful as usual. (V.M.)
ReplyDeletePss Bene, looks great. Love her dress and beautiful black scarf, attached with a brooch. Her colour choice of accessories is perfect. She looks very elegant.
