On February 5, 2020, Queen Elizabeth opened a newly rebuilt facility 72 years after her father, King George VI, opened the original station on 2nd February 1948. The Queen toured the new station which has been rebuilt over the past 18 months to create. Wolferton Pumping Station allows the surrounding 7,000 acres of marshland, which sits below sea level, to be drained, dried out and farmed. |
Habillée en conséquence, la reine porte un très joli foulard dont les motifs colorés lui vont à merveille !
ReplyDeleteDoesn’t she look delighted to be there! I can’t get over how engaged she is on her visits, even after all these years. I think her outfit is almost perfect - warm coat and beautiful headscarf. I just wish she’d wear some cosy boots too to keep her feet and legs warm. D. Camilla practically lives in her black suede ones - I wish the Queen would follow suit. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThere are no words that would really do her justice. She is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love her pretty headscarf and coat. It appears that the coat also features a hood which, if needed, could provide extra protection from the cold. She is, indeed, amazing. She seems to enjoy these engagements in the countryside and I believe she wants to be a good caretaker of her beloved country.
ReplyDeleteThe Q different today. I think she gets lost in this coat. nice scarf.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the way the head scarf is tied She does it all the time, but perhaps a warm woolen scraf over her head and wrapped around her neck would have been better and kept her warmer. Boots would have been nice too, or here would have been a suitable occasion for a wool pants suit.
ReplyDeleteOh I just love this coat, mini cape effect around the shoulders, the hood, beautiful sleeves and length of coat, its beautiful. Combined with the gorgeous scarf. The Queen is one amazing woman, her stamina and always has a smile, incredible.
ReplyDeleteVery much agreed! She looks wonderful and looks happy at this engagement.

The Queen continues to amaze with her ability to engage with people. I admire her ability to stay interested and her sincerity. In fashion, I think boots as well. Makes me feel cold just looking at her poor legs.
ReplyDeleteI really admire her ability to work at that age, but the outfit here does not anything to her. The coat is too wide and the scarf makes her head look huge. She is definitely too short for this combo.-Siri
ReplyDeleteFashion-wise, I agree that this outfit (apparently chosen to give protection in extremely cold weather?) is very unflattering to Her Majesty. Practicality surely was the order of the day — but given that, the contrast between the heavy coat and the lightweight headscarf is a bit puzzling. I’d have thought that a fitted down-filled parka and insulated hat in a pretty color would be more the queen’s style in extreme cold, but she has given us something to think about, if not enjoy :-D.
