Yesterday, Swedish Royal Court released a new family photo showing Swedish Crown Princess family, that is, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar together and a new photo of Princess Estelle. The photos were taken by royal photographer Anna-Lena Ahlström. (Crown Princess Victoria wore a new dress by Samsøe Samsøe. Princess Estelle wore a new dress by Patachou.) |

ReplyDeleteThe group photo is lovely. But I have to say, I am not a big fan of a child wearing all black. Too severe a look in my view. They might have considered a little color somewhere. Why not a little collar on the dress with a matching bow in her hair. Or one of the those cute necklaces? She'll be grown up soon enough. Plenty of time to wear black.
Is it really black? I think it's navy blue. Estelle is gorgeous. So little and so much charisma already!
DeleteI'm pretty sure she is wearing navy blue, Victoria and Daniel are in black, Estelle is in navy blue.
DeleteEstelle's dress and bow look navy blue to me. Still dark but more suitable to a young child. However, it may just be how the color is showing up on my screen.
DeleteShe is wearing navy blue NOT black. The same color as Princess Victoria also navy blue.

Its navy blue...
DeleteShe's wearing navy blue.
DeleteShe is wearing Navy blue.
DeleteIt's navy.
DeleteBlue, she's wearing Navy blue.
DeleteEstelle is not wearing black. Her dress is navy blue.
DeleteEstelle’s dress is actually dark blue. Its from the Portugese brand Patachou.
DeleteYour view isn't important for another family's photos.
DeleteAm online? Thought it was deep red! Better get my eyes checked
DeleteThe future Queen E is a beautiful girl. And Oscar is a lovely boy with beautiful smile. Fashion-wise, they look coordinated .
ReplyDeleteCharmante photo de famille dont les deux petits princes vraiment craquants ; Estelle dont j'aime beaucoup sa couleur de cheveux et Oscar très souriant !
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely family. Pss Estelle is so much like her mother.Little Oscar make sure everyone can see him smile.
ReplyDeleteCUUUTE
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of a lovely family. I wonder why they chose to wear so much black clothing, and especially for a young child like Estelle. It reminds me of a family in mourning. However I suppose that it does highlight their lovely smiles and faces.

i totally agree.
DeleteThe oldest member of the Bernadotte family (Dagmar, 103) recently passed away. Even on this site there were photos of her and the funeral.

Oscar's broad smile makes me smile right back at him... What a lovely picture of this down to earth family..
ReplyDeleteThey look great and smiley, but their clothes are a little too dark, especially Estelle. She'd look better with a different color. Oscar is OK
ReplyDeleteSombre colours but lovely photos. Estelle is turning into a really lovely young lady (as opposed to a wee girl). Love Oscar's cheesy grin
ReplyDeleteEstelle is becoming more and more pretty!
ReplyDeleteI agree totally
DeleteI love this family photo. Everyone looks wonderful especially Prince Oscar! His smile is adorable. Princess Estelle is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. I like lot CP family
ReplyDeleteNice Photograph of a nice happy Family! They all look good. I just miss some colour, but that's just me.
ReplyDeleteCan't see enough of Cpss Victorias dress to have an opinion, only that it's very dark. Why Victoria never changes this severe hairstyle, only she knows.....
Great family photo. I believe Estelle is in a dark navy not black and maybe she choose the color. Oscar's is adorable. Love Estelle's determined gaze in the color photo.

I love to see pictures of this wonderful family! They always make me smile!
ReplyDeleteIt's back to Estelle's bows, very nice simple hairpiece to go with her dress. Estelle knows what's coming in her life and is determined to meet it head on. And Oscar is really hamming it up for the camera with his wide smile; what a difference from the sad toddler we used to see.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the dark colors (I love dark clothes year-round). Perhaps the children were allowed within reason to choose their own clothes. Daniel, straighten your tie; the photographer should've noticed that. Men's ties - my bugaboo.

Absolutely adorable. Everyone looks beautiful. A little dark on the clothing but...
ReplyDeleteI think that Estelle’s dress is navy blue not black . Lovely picture of a charming family .
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family photo. It is especially a lovely photo of the CP. The children are really delightful.
ReplyDeletePrince Daniel looks really over edited and cartoonish looking. Otherwise lovely photo but needs more colour!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful photo of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden's Family. May the year 2020 become a wonderful year for Princess Victoria and her family.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are wearing navy blue, not black, which looks lovely against the background and the upholstery.
ReplyDeleteI think the dark BLUE clothes for everyone, a bit less for Oscar, is fine and probably intentional. It puts everyone on equal footing. Estelle's dress is adorable.
ReplyDeleteYou put it in a nutshell! I want to add: Estelle‘s hair color is beautiful and she has got a lot of charisma… like her mother. These children grow up with doting parents and grandparents and Sweden is also a very child-friendly country. For children still the land of Astrid Lindgren :).
Deletewonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThey look sooo beautiful and happy! I lvoe Estelle's dress and the hairbow a lot :-)
Victoria also looks fantastic and we really can say: she loves clothes with bows a lot *g*
Daniel looks very handsome and Oscar: omg, look at that grin!!
DeleteAs for Victorias hairstyle, a never ending story on this site: There could be so many reasons why she wears this very simple hairstyle pulled back and away from her face. For example: because she likes it this way. And/or: because She is not willing to spend much time styling her hair (or letting a hairstylist to do it) because she is busy and has other priorities. And another possible reason: She is not a royal consort, she is crown princess and future queen. Think of Queen Elisabeth, think of the Danish Queen - maybe all these women do not want to fuss about hairstyle because their faces should remain highly identifiable, a constant, through the years? - And one more thing: not everbody dislikes Victoria's pulled-back and strict hairstyle. I personally think it suits her very well (and may it tells us something about her personality and character too). Maybe time to accept it instead of repeating how one does not like it? She gives us enough stuff to talk about by her fashion choices :-) (Ann.)

DeleteWell said :)
@Coralie : I don't think Estelle's dress is her own choice. The whole arrangements seem to be the result of preparations and adequate thinking. Anyway it is a very lovely picture. And I have nothing against occasional dark colours, particularly since we know that this family is smiling and relaxed.

DeleteHear, hear
Why are people so hung up on dark colors? Some of us LOVE dark colors. Some children LOVE dark colors. The colder wintry countries (like mine) see lots of dark colors. I don't see the problem. Come the warmer seasons people will once again see Victoria in light flower patterns (along with complaints about that) and the kids in light clothes. The dark colors look good for this nice family photo at this time of year. ~Rose~
ReplyDeleteThis elegant photo is quite simply a variation on the theme blue, just look at the background. Dark blue has always been a traditional colour for children in Spain and Italy etc., with children wearing dark blue shoes, even in summer, whereas further north one prefers red or white shoes or pastel colours.
ReplyDeleteSweden is dark in February, so why not reflect this wintery atmosphere?
