Queen Máxima of The Netherlands attended the World Economic Forum (WEF 2020) in Davos. On the morning of January 22, Queen Máxima opened the workshop called "Financial Inclusion Beyond the Individua". On the same day, Queen Máxima also attended a meeting with the CEO Partnership for Economic Inclusion. (Queen Maxima wore a new floral brocade coat by Oscar de la Renta.) |
On the morning of January 23, Queen Máxima of The Netherlands attended a session of the Stewardship Board of the WEF System Initiative on Shaping the Future of Financial and Monetary Systems, of which she has been a member since 2016. In addition, Queen Máxima attended a working lunch of the Washington Post and Foreign Policy. |
Still going strong. I like the outfit but the coat is horrible,of course MO only.
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima looking VERY well polished. Face and hair looking fresh.
ReplyDeleteHer wadrope is well suited for these work meeting. Lovely coat!
Is that the same coat or does she have two of them? It is a little flamboyant but it actually looks pretty good, especially with the green boots and accessories. I am no fan of overly huge scarfs, but Queen Maxima can carry them off. Her hair - well it's her usual, no time for the Hairdresser, she is a busy Lady.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the coat!
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent coat! It looks like you could toss it on over almost any colour. And Q. Maxima has the height to carry off the slightly cocoon shape.
ReplyDeleteI like both of the outfits shown with it. They’re monochrome, and not too fussy in style ( no massive sleeves! no giant ruffles! ), but I think the green skirt is a bit too tight. (V.M.)
J'adore la couleur de son corsage dont le col Lavallière est très à la mode ; avec les bottes de la même couleur et la jupe en cuir, c'est très chic.. Par contre, je ne suis pas fan de l'imprimé floral de son manteau !
ReplyDeleteFashonably the Queen excels herself on January 22.
ReplyDeleteI like every piece she wore so very much. All those cold colors are quite made for her and the look altogether is adorable. The floral coat highlights her personality and is absolutely approriate for a modern European Queen. On the other hand, the brocate frabric reaches back to very old times when Queens surrounded semselfes with such treasures.
Her hair is casually undone and sleek which makes her look young and smart, exactly what she is.

Wow, just wow those green boots and that floral brocade coat.
ReplyDeleteNot great pictures to judge fashion. I like that she chose a very pretty green for the complements, the skirt looks like leather and sometimes combining it with suede can be challenging, but I do like the boots, specially because we can't see the shiny pantyhose. Won't say anything about the hair, too much has already been discussed. The coat is what gives me thoughts :-) do I like it ? I am not sure.. maybe if it wasn't oversized, it looks so fussy. inevitably takes me to the coat worn by Catherine yesterday, probably a tenth of the price, so elegant and flattering, and versatile, she opted to not add any accessories, but oh! the combinations, wool chocolate, off white, green, orange scarves, even geometric or prints, winter hats or barrets... anyway I digress
ReplyDeleteMáxima looks fine if not great.
I could not agree more.... Kate as well as Letizia are mastering the art of ‘less is more’ perfectly. Besides that their clothes, even the clothes from every day brands, are always fitting superbly..... Maxima, on the other hand, always wears very expensive clothes, with which she manages to look very messy .....

I love to see Maxima in her own area of expertise but still representing her adopted country. What a great ambassador for the Netherlands. Not sure about the coat and definitely not keen on the grungy boots (i know it's being snowing in Davos and therefore not the place for elegant footwear) but love the colour of the blouse and also orange dress. Great to see her with a fitbit too just like the rest of the world
ReplyDeleteThe second photo of Maxima smiling is so gorgeous and captures her wonderful personality brilliantly. I like her in the dark green colours very much! Cindy
ReplyDeleteIt is not the King hugging her, I assume???
ReplyDeleteShe looks amazing! And so does the food! - Capt. Marvel
ReplyDeleteThe cost is beautiful and it fits well with both green and orange clothes. She looks great. -Siri
ReplyDeleteNot so keen on the busy coat, but really love the accessories, greenish colour of the boots, bag and scarf, really offsets the coat well.
ReplyDeleteMax is fabulous! I can’t take it! She’s just the coolest.
ReplyDeleteThe top pics, it looks like a silk blouse and leather skirt? If so, i love it. Plus, her hair isn't actually a hot mess, so I love it even more. The red outfit is fine too, I just really love to see a queen in leather! ;) I'm not a fan of the coat, it is just not my style, but it is very much Maxima's style, so I'm not mad at it. Plus, it isn't clashing, and goes with both outfits.

Agree anon at 4:57 am! She is the one and only, cool and bold. So bored of those "cute" outfits. A royal lady does not have to look like a paper doll in 2020.
ReplyDelete100% agreed Zucchina. Royal women are real, everyday women as well and I applaud the very few of them who aren't afraid to show themselves that way in public.

Agreed! She isn’t a Barbie doll. For sure she is her own person and no reason to shame her for showing it!

Firstly, great to see an exec table with ‘jugs’ of water...not bottles (plastic). I love her coat n green boots! Hope they got alot done in their Davis session.
ReplyDeleteWho is the man with the turban? He seems very close to Máxima.
